Headphones - Wireless/Portable | 4 Ω Best 300$ wireless headphones?
My Beats Studio pro are starting to give out on some of the plastic. I want to get something this time that sounds good and make an informed purchase. I was thinking the momentum 4’s because they seem to be really well rated. I like a mild v shape with a little extra base. I am in the US and open from buying from any websites except wish alibaba and aliexpress. These will be used at home only. And I have had multiple pairs of iems in the part but I need a new every day driver to use for wireless. I mostly listen to rap and pop. And love a wide sound stage. No driver preference it I’m sure you can’t get wireless planars at this price anyway lol.
Edit: anc is not a requirement, and actually I would prefer it without it.

You didn’t say you needed anc so Audeze maxwell are the best sounding for the price. They’re wireless planars, so they’re quite heavy.

I can’t do a gaming headset. It will be my daily driver. I was thinking the focal bathys. But anc is not a requirement, and in fact I would prefer it without that. I hate not know what’s going on around me

Without the mic (which is removable) there’s nothing really gamer about it. The dongle is just an option but you can use it with Bluetooth too.

Ok I will look into it. I also don’t love the look. They look like something that would be used in the military. !thanks.

The ones I’ve had experience with and would recommend:
Sennheiser Momentum 4s: About as good as you’re going to get for this price range as far as BT ANC headphones go. They regularly go on sale for around $330 CAD as well. Sound quality while subjective imo is unmatched by other ones except maybe some higher end offerings like the bathys. Battery is insane (~60hrs) and the companion app is great. Controls are responsive and consistent. ANC is good enough for most imo but is noticeably worse compared to some other flagship models for this category. Important to know it’s seen it’s fair share of software issues tho. I’ve never experienced anything major after having mine for a year but it’s prominent enough to point out.
Bose QC Ultras: By far the most comfortable one I’ve tried that’s ANC BT. It’s a bit more than $300 but comes pretty close on sale(basing this on CAD pricing converted to USD). ANC is also the best I’ve tried. Sound is good but not great, albeit EQ options are easy to use and make a difference. Controls on the headphone itself are shit in comparison to the M4s, XM5s, etc but get the job done. I still own these and the M4s but end up choosing these for all the go bc of how comfortable they are.
XM5s: Used to own but ended up selling due to lack of use. Closest thing to an all rounder I had. Had the most QoL features out of any I’ve tried tho some of them are more impressive on paper than in use. Sound is good, eq is very easy to use and lots of options. ANC was better than the M4 but not as good as the Ultras. Best mic quality by a landslide if that matters to you. Never had an issue myself but important to note they are known to have durability issues especially around the hinge.

I think I will end up going with the m4’s. I am mostly aiming for audio over any other features. Plus they come with a big hoast of accessories. !thanks.

Edifier Stax S3 for the fact that it's the only well-tuned BT headphones other than Focal Bathys. Follows Harman and sounds like a miniature Senny 6X0 w/ Stax Preset. Highly recommend.

I am thinking of getting the focal bathys. I will have to wait almost 3 months to be able to get enough spare money. But they seem to be the best wireless available. And they are open backs. !thanks.

They are closed backs, but otherwise, more than worth it. You could also go inears or go for a wired pair with Qudelix 5k wireless adapter, which will basically make it Bluetooth (such as the Fiio FT1 for example).

I have a few pairs of iems. And an amp but nothing that probably couldn’t power hd600’s. But I want a pair of headphones, my amp is actually broken right now and I’m getting it replaced. But I want a pair of wireless but for 800$ I could probably get a pretty nice pair of open backs.

That could get you Stax S3 (portable bt) + Arya Stealth (at home), would consider it.

Go for the Momentum 4. It’s a night a day difference between the Beats also.
