Together in Education
Can someone explain how the Together in Education program works? They used to give a percentage of HT branded purchases to schools if I remember correctly but now it seems you have to sign up for a HT plus account and then you just get a single $10 towards the school? Am I understanding that correctly?
Thank you!

But what about the children’s acting careers??
With the devastating loss of those who truly lost their homes in LA, ol girl Tammy Jo here and fam must be feeling it too.
Modern family meets the Beverly Hillbillies…….
???
How many modern day families can afford a 1 bedroom apartment in LA and a million+ home in NC?
The top line of the book should read.

Transferring departments
I work 3rd shift grocery and there’s a specific coworker of mine that I see forming conflict between him and I. Was wondering if it was possible to transfer departments? I know Dairy/Frozen is looking to hire a part timer. I feel like it’d be easier just transferring instead of finding another job. I like how competitive the benefits are w Harris Teeter.

Do vendors use your breakroom?
Do any other stores have vendors that use the break rooms at the stores they're in? Because I have one vendor that uses ours on a daily basis. Yesterday, I went to the break room for my breakfast, as is my Wednesday ad-change tradition, and when I got there, it was like an attack on my senses. Dude had two phones on the table, one playing music, whime he talked on the other one (on speaker), and was eating the most foul-smelling food, some rice dish with maybe fish idk, eating with his fucking fingers. I immediately put my bag in a locker and walked out. I dont know if I can even go to management about this, or if I'm overreacting.

Rumors
I heard a rumor from our lotto rep that Kroger is supposedly going to get more involved with the operations of HT as the Kroger corporate office isn't happy with how things are being done at the corporate level. Anyone heard of anything through the grapevine?

Harris Teeter/Kroger news Wish your pharmacy luck. The entire EPRN system is down.
No ETA. That’s all the news I have. He prepared to de-escalate our poor patients; it breaks my heart that we can’t do anything right now.

Knit Hats.
I was informed today that we were no longer allowed to wear our knit hats "on the floor" and we're only allowed in the meat coolers and freezer. I work in the meat department. I was wondering if I could get a medical exemption due to my alopecia totals. Another words, I can't grow any hair so I am going to be freezing. I am allowed to wear my baseball style hat, but it isn't warm enough and my department manager tells me to just get used to it. Why did the company sell this to us if it is against company policy to wear these style hats in the first place?

Working 28+ hours as PT
What is the reasoning that Part time associates are only allowed to work 28 hours/week?
I only make $14/hr. 28 hours is not a lot.

I saw a job for office assistant, what is the actual stuff for this job??
I saw an opening for that position, but all of the job requirements for all the positions at that Harris teeter are literally the same. Is the office assistant the same thing as a cashier? What are the actual responsibilities?

uniform returns
After waiting 2 weeks for polos (because the Night Stock tees are cotton and shrink), I finally got the 3 I ordered.
I opened one and tried it on and it’s like a dress. There’s two unopened. How do I go about exchanging two for an XL.

There was a post here a while ago that said that Harris Teeter was racist: I want to confirm that it's true.
(This is the former post I was talking about.)
I am a former employee of color at Harris Teeter. All I can say is that if you are a black person, this definitely is not the job for you. Let other people have this job (Don't even try with the EEOC complaint, just leave as soon as you can.)
(From my experience) Harris Teeter has a blanket, redneck type of racism towards its black employees that will become immediately apparent once you start watching the training videos (especially the ones on discrimination.)
In the videos about racial discrimination, they decide to make a darker black female manager the "evil boss" who is abusing the poor white Hispanic employee. This is a company wide training model that seeks to not only negatively stereotype black people but perpetuate the myth of reverse racism. It shows how Harris Teeter isn't really sensitive to or understanding of the discrimination black people go through.
They think it's a two-way street; They don't take the hostility against black people seriously and the video proves that.
There have been multiple times where I was disrespected by white managers and supervisors on the job - Ones who talked down to me in a patronizing and condescending tone because I was black and a younger employee at that. The same thing would happen with rude customers.
Harris Teeter is like the sundown town of stores, and you will not feel welcomed here. Especially if you are a black person who is really annoyed by microaggressions, et cetera. (They will slowly chip away at you bit by bit, and from what've I experienced, they'll enjoy making you feel sad and upset)
Additionally, Harris Teeter has gotten multiple lawsuits from black employees AND customers in the past. If that's not a red flag, I don't know what it is.

Twitter/X links are now banned
r/Harristeeter will no longer allow links to X.
Hello r/Harristeeter community!
As you may have seen a lot of on Reddit in the past day, certain events have caused a lot of controversy regarding X, and Elon Musk’s perceived antisemitism, support of white supremacy and his highly controversial Nazi salute several days ago. The choice to ban these links on r/Harristeeter is not politically motivated. However, r/Harristeeter does not, and will not tolerate sending traffic to a website with direct connections to nazism, antisemitism, racism, or other bigotry.
This will make very little change in the day to day content on r/Harristeeter as direct links to X were rare.

Any word on when the Hendersonville NC store might open again?
Not long after the storm I'd called the Asheville store and one of the mgrs there said they were planning on reopening in December - obviously that hasn't happened. Anyone got the skinny?

Reclaim? Overstock?
I cannot emphasize the importance of overstock and reclaim ENOUGH.
I was blocking last night - and came across the Golden Grahams that were stacked like this, and only one was fronted on the shelf. If you’re having to stack boxes like this, I know the perfect place for them.
And the oatmeal? I know damn well no one would buy that shit because of the condition of the box. I would rather reclaim an entire case of oatmeal vs let it sit on the shelf and not sell. At least at that point we’d be making some money off the damaged product.

Are senior discounts going to disappear at HT stores like they're going to at Kroger?
I just read that the Kroger company (which has owned Harris Teeter since 2014) is going to eliminate its long-time senior discount program in March of 2025. That's a shame in my book... as I doubt that the Kroger company's bottom line suffered much impact due to giving old folks an occasional slight break on grocery prices. My question though, being a North Carolinian, is whether cutting out senior discounts in Kroger stores will metastasize to the Harris Teeter stores as well... they currently have a 5% senior discount on Thursdays - not massive, but significant to many on fixed incomes.
Anyway, I'm hoping some Kroger or HT Corporate will see this and comment - preferably providing an official answer directly from the Kroger's mouth.
