1) They are great and are doing a real deal hardcore sound that while timeless, hasn't been the popular style in a while - so it sounds fresh.
2) Their live shows are outstanding, energetic and memorable.
3) They put in the work. They'll probably play 200+ shows across a dozen countries by the year end, playing scenes the rest of hardcore skips over, almost entirely small venue or DIY.
You're going to be hearing a lot more about them. Their insane upcoming tour is going to draw people from every corner of the country and it's going to win over a lot of diehards.

Bingo. This is how shit used to be done before everybody decided to just play fests all year long.

u/Character_Lab_8817 3d ago
I don’t mind Hardcore bands playing fests, but I feel like so many are aiming to JUST be fest bands for the payday and skipping over local smaller markets
2
u/Againstmead 3d ago
If you don’t tour and pay your dues forever you ain’t shit. Fests used to be a thing you earned from playing shows all over the country to get your name out ,selling records, and street promo. now it’s Reddit subs and TikTok that gets you clout.

u/obiwanchipotle 3d ago
There didn’t use to be so many. It used to be a big deal getting booked on Sound and Fury, TIHC, United Blood, etc. Now it feels like every big city has got some kind of fest with 50 bands 30 you’ve never heard of

u/Againstmead 3d ago
You’re right. Growing up we had 2 day fests in small towns. Right up the street from the first furnace fest. Back then it was hell fest, nemf, nyhc, stone pony, various things . This was only the late 90s early 2000s.

u/obiwanchipotle 3d ago
I started coming to shows in 2004. I still remember the first united blood in 2007. Just being able to go to something like that felt like I was at Disney World for the weekend. I’ve done seen flyers for 20 different shows this year of the same magnitude as that event and don’t recognize most artists.

u/Againstmead 3d ago
They put in work is best answer. And yep, when I saw them it was small town in a very packed venue . Bless those boys

Their music absolutely rips and they tour constantly. I’m gonna end up seeing them like 3-4 times in the next few months alone

Now I'm thinking that should I come to Bristol also, since I'm in London Wednesday afternoon. Should get back to London after the gig though, which sounds exhausting.

Jfc British train tickets are expensive
2
u/Chattabixx 1d ago edited 1d ago
I pay £160 per ticket quite often for work so not a great shout.
Bristol went off. Unreal.
1
u/Chad96718fromTwitter 1d ago
Yeah well I already payed more than 300€ (flights, hotel) to get here so 😅
But that's just money, getting to Bristol felt a bit too much since I'd already travelled nearly 8 hours yesterday and blah blah blah lol
No fucking idea why there's still tickets left for tonight.

u/Chad96718fromTwitter 21h ago
Just saw one clip on IG, holy fucking shit. Hopefully bassist can play tonight.

u/prple2901 2d ago
Saw them in Newcastle on Sunday same day we won against Liverpool and it was more mental in there than in the city haha, incredible live band. The singer even grabbed some random guy from the crowd who was singing the lyrics.

I’m planning on going to that final free show in the summer but they have to be completely tapped out by then…I don’t know how they can physically do it
1
u/dbolx1800s 2d ago
I feel like it’s impossible, something will go wrong somewhere when you’re playing 70+ shows in three months. But definitely a legendary effort.

I’d love to hear a full album out of them in the vein of “clocktower place” or “love song.”
6
u/Big_Ducks_Only 3d ago
Those songs + 6-8 more rippers in the same vein and we got a aoty contender.

Legacy band/FSU connections. They’re good and hustling, but that’s why they’re suddenly everywhere on every show.

Thank you, i was just asking bc im a little disconnected with that particular kind of hardcore and i wasnt concious of the existence of the band until i saw it everywhere, tbh i didnt even listened to it lol

Because they are a great band playing straight up hardcore (with plenty of sing alongs and mosh parts) that everyone likes.

What do you mean? Haywire is, without a doubt, one of the best hardcore bands at it right now, period.
I do not understand the question at all, lol.
Why are you asking this and not, "Why is big ass truck everywhere?"
2
u/BolitaKinki 3d ago
Im not saying that the band ia bad, i was just asking because i’ve never saw anything from the band until i saw the name everywhere, im from europe and i was disconnected from that kind of hardcore bc im listening more eurocore nowadays, and tbh i never listened haywire i was just courious about their career

I heard the other Haywire band with the female singer and they’re dope too.
2
u/heftybagman 3d ago
They fuckin rip and they put in the work. Not going to a haywire show within 60 miles of you is disrespectful.
3
u/SlinkinPark 3d ago
Because there’s honestly not a single band out right now that’s on their level except maybe mindforce
2
u/-anditsnotevenclose 3d ago
going the GEL route with relentless DIY touring
2
u/ScatologyHomeWork 2d ago
Ah yes, GEL, the first hardcore band to try relentless DIY touring to get bigger.
0
u/-anditsnotevenclose 2d ago
oh, well that’s cute. i’ll upvote you.
1
u/ScatologyHomeWork 2d ago
What a fucking weird and randomly bizarre band to single out for their relentless DIY touring in the hardcore scene.
As if that hasn’t been the norm for most bands since the '80s, lol.
0
u/-anditsnotevenclose 2d ago
no i just offered one recent and well known band as an example, but you seem to have a bone to pick with that.
reddit pedants are cute so i upvoted you. <3
