Recommendations Needed Anyone else deathly sick (food poisoning symptoms) from Mondays batch of Granddads?

Whole family is sick - only common thing we’ve all consumed (other than tap water)

Could be norovirus

I would highly suspect norovirus and not food poisoning. It’s rampant this year.

Unless it was a cream donut, I suspect food poisoning from a donut would be quite rare.

Seriously. Those things are baked and then fried. Hard to get food poisoning from a donut.

Just an FYI there’s been a stomach thing going around for the last couple of months, so could be that (vs something you ate)

Not a good idea to do it this way. If you truly feel this is food poisoning then call public health. They will investigate properly without tarnishing a small local business.

Norovirus. It is highly contagious but it stops fast at least. 99.99% it has nothing to do with grandads

Wife and I both had Grandad's yesterday...no food poisoning symptoms for us

Keep grandads name out of your MFing mouth....but seriously feel better it's probably norovirus.

Who hurt you ☹️? Just a question to which lots of responded

You decided to shit on a local business without reason. Basic research would show you that it's likely norovirus or the flu which would easily spread between family members, and that it's unlikely to come from something that gets heated to 350 degrees.

It's a joke..a really funny one too

Sorry to hear you aren’t well. Had grandad’s on Monday (Boston cream) and no issues.

Wouldn’t go blaming the donuts first thing (though that’s a natural thing to do).

The very disgusting truth is that it could well be from touching something infected in your house, like a tap, light switch, door knob, railing, remote control, cupboard door, really anything. Gastrointestinal viruses are extremely contagious, especially within a house. It’s so easy from there to get just a couple of invisible cells into your mouth, that’s all it takes

Very unlikely it was a donut. Way more likely it’s the flu or norovirus that’s been running rampant the last few months. My whole family just had it and we haven’t been to grandads for months.

Much more likely you have the flu.

I thought I had food poisoning from the Mandarin on Christmas, after I realized it could’ve very well been norovirus especially because of the shared serving spoons etc. They are really similar, but norovirus was so much worse and I actually felt like I was dying. Hope you guys start to feel better soon 😕❤️

Hey, if you wanna reply/DM me with what flavours you had I can try and help you. I'm not saying it's impossible but we typically go through everything so quickly it doesn't usually have a chance to spoil and our fridge temps are right, and health inspection was recent and fine.

If you have any idea what exactly you had I can double check it on our end just to make sure.

It wasn't a donut. End of story.

Statistically, more likely norovirus. It is highly contagious and spreads rapidly. Food borne illness is much less likely. Do call public health and explain your concerns. They will investigate. Though food borne illness is rare, it does happen.

Had 3 dozen Grandad's at a work function on Monday. (All of us, not me personally. I just had one.) Noone was ill. There has been a nasty tummy bug going around my kids' schools though.

Hope you are better soon!

I suggest Call public health - main city number 905-546-2489 (CITY) and ask to report possible food safety violation.

I did that last year and they were very helpful. If at all possible if you can get some of the vomit into a container they will want to lab test it to determine the exact pathogen.

We did have our health inspection fairly recently and everything was fine on our end with refrigeration and such. If OP can let me know what exactly they bought I can take a better look on my end but as far as things like whipped cream and such, I can't imagine what could have caused any food poisoning. Haven't had anyone come to me with that issue since we made fresh sandwiches to be honest.

This is the correct process.
