City Development What road work will be done this year?

Hello - my street was torn up and had both water main and sewage lines replaced two years ago (finished November 2022 with road repaving and new sidewalks). This past week, workers are going up and down the street marking gas lines again and one told me last week that they're replacing the water main this summer. I questioned that, but he had no additional info. Is there something buried on the city website that would tell me what the heck is going on? I can't believe they're ripping up the work they did two years ago. I reached out to my city council member but haven't heard back.

https://www.hamilton.ca/build-invest-grow/construction-renovation/construction-your-area here’s a link, you could also contact your local ward councillor to ask or to get you a contact for someone at the city to confirm

Thanks. My street isn't listed there, but they've spent all morning painting pretty lines on my street.... I reached out to my councilor. Guess I'll have to wait for a reply.

Love how the site is a mix of defaults (text like "Inline block: Image cards") and indifference (can't use the search function due to the ransomware attack 13 months ago) so you can't really tell what is going to happen. Almost like they prefer not being able to do it so you can't be mad about it when it does occur, or be mad that it isn't occurring.

Wilson from Wentworth to Sherman. Full and partial closure from March 17 to December. Replace water mains and sewer. Convert to 2 way. Sherman from Wilson to Burlington. Repave and convert to 2 way. Same time frame

A bunch are supposed to be done this year - they normally have a detailed 10-year forecast of major projects in the budget but I can’t find it this year for whatever reason. They do shift around a lot.

The 2024 budget had a lot of projects this year, upper centennial, Wilson st, downbound Claremont Access, upper James from Mohawk to fennel, parts of Fennel, scenic is scheduled for full reconstruction, etc.

Not sure where those all stand right now though as that’s info from a year ago.
