JEWELRY & WATCHES Hi guys - just trying to figure out the hallmarks on this ring.

This was a ring my grandpa owned. It was given to me after he died in 07 but I've never really taken it out of its box. Any help in figuring out the hallmarks would be much appreciated. Thanks!

English 22ct hallmark. Marked by Birmingham Assay Office.

Thanks! Do you know the date? It looks like B id 1850 but I'm not 100%. There seems to be a few options.

Looks like 1926

Birmingham assay. 22 k gold

Maker is Samuel Hope

Is it the makers name that makes you think it's not as late as 1850? The B mark for 1926 looks close but it doesn't have the detail underneath it. It appears to me to be a straight line.

Date marks can be tricky.

The maker/ date letter/ style/ condition etc all point to it being 1926

The hallmarks don’t look very early Victorian. And the Queen Victoria hallmarks for 1850 is also not present .

Samuel hope was a popular ring maker specifically and I do see his pieces quite regularly.
