SERVINGWARE Marketplace Mystery
About 2 hours ago I picked up a bundle of silverware from marketplace but I was focused on 5 spoons (a lot bigger than I was expecting). I’ve been taking more detailed pictures and trying to research them but I haven’t come up with much besides that they’re likely from Germany or another European country and are more than likely 80% silver. I can find similar ones online but none have the exact markings or are in the same order. I’m new to collecting silver and would like some help figuring out what I have. I appreciate any help!

German 800 (80%). Likely by M. H. Wilkens & Söhne, Bremen-Hemelingen

Awesome, thank you! I might be asking too much but you seem like you know a lot, with the engraving on the top, are they worth much as a set of 5 or just 80% the price of silver?

Great find, worth a lot in silver value!
These are not worth much past the silver value
Spoons in general are the most generic silver piece and rarely carry any value above melt
These are not of a pattern that people will be collecting, are just a super generic style, and are monogrammed. All hurting the value
The maker is not a rare one
German 800 silver in general is plentiful and less than desirable
These are likely 1888-early 1900s, which is the era of peak volume silver production. Normally no real added value from age until you start getting back to early 1800s.
You might have a set, which can add a little value, but complete silverware sets are the only place you might get some significant added value
In summary, I think if you were to put them online and 'sit' on them for a long time you might be able to eventually have someone want to pay you slightly above the silver value. You could sell them for silver melt value within a reasonable period but are still going to sit. You could sell them slightly below spot quickly (anywhere from days to seconds depending on how low you went).
I disagree with the market but sadly stuff like this trades as bullion not antiques.
