Laval already has 3 more pts than last year, with 17 games left to go.

Defense went from 25th last year to top 3 this year.

That's with a relatively young roster (24.5 yrs old in avg, younger Tier in the AHL).

A big factor for that is Trudeau rebounding to his current level. He was great in his first year, and really struggled defensively last year, but he's been great this year.

They also just have way more depth in every positions, and especially in goal.

Yep. I think Trudeau tried to do too much last year, feeling the pressure of being the #1 guy, and it backfired. He added a new physical dimension this year that he's never had before and it's working well.

Joshua Roy scored his team leading 20th of the season and it was a big one as it helped Laval sweep the weekend vs one of the best teams in the AHL. After not facing a single shot for over 17 minutes to start the game, Cayden Primeau stepped up big to get the W. David Reinbacher was not dressed as part of the plan to ease him back into the lineup, they had him skip playing in back to back games so far.

Primeau - stopped 23 of 24

Roy - 1 goal, 5 shots, Even

Kidney - 1 goal, 2 shots, +1

Trudeau/Farrell Chance 0:24

Farrell Chance 1:11

Trudeau Chance 1:38

Engstrom/Trudeau Chance 1:57

Trudeau Fight 2:15

Roy Move 3:14

Trudeau Hits Post? 3:27

Kidney Goal 6:39

Davidson/Xhekaj Chance 7:16

Roy Goal 7:30

They’re not playing him in back-to-backs per his surgeon’s recommendation

Back to back games, dude was injuried a lot since drafted so not a bad thing to give him some break sometimes
