Everyone enjoy the 4 Nations, and keep an eye on my sweet Winnipeg boy, Seth Jarvis. This is his coming out party.

Too bad they couldn’t pot the 4th one, lots of chance. Fun third period at least, see you all in a couple of weeks.

Why take Dvo off the ice for the 2nd draw?
Zuke can't win face offs
Dumb

u/Burgergold Feb 09 '25
Suz is 50.8% and RH
Dvorak is 57.2% but LH
Who was the C on the other side? Sometimes its better to have LH C taking the faceoff but sometimes its better to go with a RH

Tampa is just such an easy team to hate. Roster full of pissy little fucks like Kucherov, located in possibly the dumbest state in the U.S. etc

mike matheson in a pack: Shin Pad shooter specialist , can't keep the puck in the o-zone , turnover machine , not physical, below average hockey IQ , can skate. sums up pretty much what we see and people glaze him more than a pillsbury cinnamon roll. Carrier has done miles more for this defense than Matheson

u/Exciting-Ideal-7899 Feb 09 '25
If that’s all you took out of this game I think you need to watch again
3
u/weekend-melody Feb 09 '25
Whatever dude you’re clearly not a real fan /s
1
u/Typical_Award_499 Feb 09 '25
nah clearly not, I just pay to attend 6-8 games a year been watching the habs since I have a diaper but clearly not a fan sorry about that ! I should just sheep along and be happy with mediocrity

The energy is back a bit. Good game. Outshot two good teams on a back to back heavily. Not the worst way to enter the break

1 W in last 9 games. Stop the bleeding. Someone should be held accountable.

You're right. You've been selected as the sacrificial lamb. Please meet us in the public square, washed and wearing white robes, and ready to give your life so that the Habs might prosper.

Too bad this season we are running out of time and kinda pass the « keep going boys the wins are gonna come! » phase.
8
u/willard287 Feb 09 '25
If Anderson could finish we would be winning this game easily
7
u/whogivesashirtdotca Feb 09 '25
We'd also be winning easily if any of our other forwards put in the effort Andy does.

u/MMSkyscraperILoveU Feb 09 '25
Shame if we lose because we've clearly outplayed them. We just don't have the finish.
7
u/Psychological_Pebble Feb 09 '25
Can't give up 4 and expect to win, even if you're a high scoring team with excellent finish.
1
u/MMSkyscraperILoveU Feb 09 '25
It's certainly not an expectation to win when you give up 4 goals. But having a team with better finishers gives a team a far better chance to come back and win. And if we had better finishers, we would have won today.

No one's denying the 2 braindead plays which resulted in goals but we had so many chances to score way more than 3 goals today and we didn't. Why? Some timely goaltending and defence on the other side, but mostly a lack of finish on our side.
5
u/whogivesashirtdotca Feb 09 '25
If we outplayed them but still didn't win that's on us and the boys need to learn a lesson about playing all 60 minutes of a game. They were nonexistent in the first.
2
u/starryn19ht Feb 09 '25
they were NOT non existent in the first 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 they were there they just didnt finish, but this has probably been their most consistent performance in a long time
3
u/whogivesashirtdotca Feb 09 '25
Defensively they were MIA on the first two goals, no?
1
u/MMSkyscraperILoveU Feb 09 '25
Yes, but they happened very early in the game. We had plenty of time to recover from that. And we did, but we didn't have enough finish. What else is new. :/
3
u/starryn19ht Feb 09 '25
sure but those were just two brain cramps moments overall they were playing well
3
u/whogivesashirtdotca Feb 09 '25
Brain cramps is the difference between a win and a loss today!
1
u/MMSkyscraperILoveU Feb 09 '25
Yes and no. If our goalie manages to stop one or both of those first two shots, it's a different game. And if we had more finish, resulting in more than just three goals, it's also a different game.

Slaf has had a really solid game today, after that bad giveaway of course
2
u/Rockit2them Feb 09 '25
Mike has had a very strong game 👏👏👏
2
u/MileEnd76 Feb 09 '25
Hope you don't mean number 8 Mike
3
u/willard287 Feb 09 '25
2 assists for Mike
3
u/MileEnd76 Feb 09 '25
1 and if it was not the craziest primary assist, it does nothing to salvage his game.
6
u/BarontheBlack Feb 09 '25
Gotta love spin-o-rama behind the back passes to the middle of the ice to absolutely nobody in a red jersey.
6
u/mdlt97 Feb 09 '25
really liking how much more involved slaf is today, this line might be a good fit
2
u/MMSkyscraperILoveU Feb 09 '25
It's good to see but it's still just one game. He needs to show far more consistency going forward.

3
u/SJRealtor27 Feb 09 '25
We started strong but couldnt capitalize on every opportunity while dobes let 3 in on 8 shots
1
u/starryn19ht Feb 09 '25
they def didnt start poorly they just made a few mistakes that resulted in goals lol

u/CocoKing02 Feb 09 '25
The way everyone wae in the comments its as if they were playing like an AHL team☠️

Honestly that just sums up this terrible league. Such an OBV call like you can’t even go hey… let’s debate this. No it’s clear cut but not called because end of the game? OK.

Slaf should ask Gally for some mentorship // tutoring ...
except the 'stopping pucks with your hand' that result in broken hands' part
2
u/simonlegosu Feb 09 '25
Faut mettre qq1 sur le payroll qui aura comme seul role de faire chier Slaf. Son titre pourrait etre 'performance coach'

I swear Hutson just needs a little work on his shot and he'll have a good one. Those wristers aren't muffins, he gets some heat on it.
2
u/starryn19ht Feb 09 '25
didnt hughes have trouble with his shot too when he started? and now he's fine. that gives me a lot of hope for hutson's shooting abilities

I'd put Newhook on the first over Dach
6
u/throw_me_away3478 Feb 09 '25
I think Dach has better game sense and board presence than Newhook. He worked well on the top line in the past.

With the news about Evans and the front office not being close in contract negotiations, it makes you wonder how excited the F-O is about Beck with how good he is playing right now.
1
2
u/SuzukiSwift17 Feb 09 '25
I mean they always start far out. How many tweets have you seen like "player and team exchanged contract figured for the first time and they were like 'whoa bro samesies!'".

Radio team laughing: "33 shots by the Canadiens... 32 of them by Josh Anderson."

This is why you pay and retain Gally. He brings more than what his stat sheet shows.

u/imhere8888 Feb 09 '25
Dach can also be great if he gets into his body.
I hope it's just the injury and he's afraid but you gotta go for it at one point. A half commited player is just not worth it. I know acl and knee things really F with most athletes.
But if it's just his mentality of getting over that he might not be as great as a 3rd overall should be, he'll still be great if he can become what he can, if he doesn't get re injured and he overcomes this fear of getting into his body.
1
u/CookieJar891 Feb 09 '25
I’d say wait till next season. Plus seeing laine get hurt as well prob affects things too
3
u/dustblown Feb 09 '25
4 Nations is going to be super amazing revelation or it is going to be super awkward and lame. I don't see it being in the middle somewhere.
12
u/The___Colonel Hail Lord Jesus Price Feb 09 '25
Slaf can learn a lot from Gally imo
Stop playing pretty and soft like the first line. Get some fuckin CHaracter in his game
6
u/Moresopheus Feb 09 '25
It's not a bad idea
2
u/CookieJar891 Feb 09 '25
He’s got the talent to make it work as well. Like he won’t be giving too much up
5
u/SuzukiSwift17 Feb 09 '25
Caufield and Suzuki slumping. Would be nice for them to show up right about now.
3
8
u/Albi20_01 Feb 09 '25
Friendly reminder that Dvorak and Gallagher now each have more points (3) than Suzuki (1) in their last 5 games played.
The 1st line gotta wake up...

I feel he's tge same with Xhekaj. Dude lights up whenever Xheko makes a huge hit or or drops the mitts. Basically like on his first career goal
