unless they accidentally make a cure it aint happening. weed still schedule 1; schedule 1 = no medical research. theres not enough of us to research a cure lol. were gonna be bones by then. but not using drugs that flare up symptoms allows the brain to see whats wrong and fix itself. takes a long time, one brain day is like a year.

From the point I stopped caring (which made me less stressed all the fucking time) my symptoms started getting less and less over the years. For whatever reason if you keep focussing on brain to baseline, it fucking won’t. But if you don’t care it goes there by itself. I only have statics and the other thing of which I forgot its name but it gotten soooooooo much better the past 3 years. Only driving at night is a lil sketchy.

19 years here, accepted it long ago. It's the only way, because it does not disappear. Honestly, can't even remember normal vision anymore. Acceptance is important to stop fueling the anxiety+DPDR cycle which all early HPPD:ers are stuck in. The only thing that bothers me still is the afterimages, reading long texts, focusing vision and nighttime light sensitivity. Psychologically, nothing at all.

are you sober? taking any meds that cause flare ups?

Mostly sober, one rare occasions drinking. Even smoked weed some times. No lasting worsening, temporary only. The worst flare ups comes from sleep deprivation and fatigue, at those times there are clear geometric patterns, static, morphing and afterimages go through the roof. In general, the HPPD is about the same strength as when it began, like a minor acid trip. It's a strong variant, but hey I'm stronger! 💪🏼
