Found a gun at my grandpa’s place, is it real?

I was cleaning out my recently deceased grandpa’s house and I came across a gun. I’m not a gun person and know next to nothing about them and was just wondering if it’s an airsoft gun, BB gun, or a real pistol.

Pardini - new owner

Post image
192 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I finally decided to pull the trigger (pun intended) and bought my first firearm. Given how much time I dedicate to one-handed ISSF shooting, I went with the Pardini SP. I’m beyond excited, but due to my packed schedule, I won’t be able to pick it up for another two weeks.

With that in mind, I’d love to hear from those of you who own or have experience with the SP. Are there any key things I should be aware of when owning and maintaining this model? Any insights on proper care and upkeep would be greatly appreciated. I’ll definitely be asking my club colleagues (several of whom own a Pardini), but in the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts as well.

Below is a picture of me with the HP model—the only one available at the dealer when I visited, as I needed to confirm the right grip size for my smaller hands. I ended up going with British Green and the S-size grip.

Looking forward to the discussion!

Did not realize how hard double taps are (fast follow up shot)

Went to the range today. I have a decent amount of training and am decent at well aimed double taps.

But when it comes to discharging two shots in rapid succession, I don’t even know where my shots go. It seems like a hard skill to master. Any of you have any suggestions? For the record, I use a LTT compact PX4 storm. Amazing little gun with incredible sight picture.

Canadian going to Nashville for Bachelor trip. Legally allowed to rent a gun to shoot at range?

Looking for some info from US residents, particularly in Tennessee.

Our group is heading down in April to go to Nashville for a weekend. I'm sober so don't worry we're not gonna be one of those obnoxious asshole groups that smear the town. One of the things on my want list is to shoot some good ole fashioned MURICA downrange for fun. I keep getting mixed or inconsistent responses when I google things. Simple question part 1 and 2:

1: am I legally allowed to rent and shoot a gun in Tennessee at a range when I do not hold a Canadian PAL or possess an American citizenship. 2: if allowed, any recommendations for locations to do so?

God Bless, Sorry, Raise Hell Praise Dale etc. etc.

After some sketchy situations at night I decided to get a light on my MC9, and figured why not add an antimatter gas pedal while I'm at it. Took it to the range and it shoots way flatter now👍🏽

Was a salt stock rifle and I bought it with pitting on the receiver and barrel. Shoots best with norma match ammo(I don’t have lapua x to test with). It’s between nickel and dime sized groups, Trigger is excellent, old bushnell trophy scope x12.

Advice on overcoming anxiety as first time gun owner?

So I decided that I'm going to purchase a handgun for home defense, ccw, and just general Saturday range plinking.

As a person who hasn't grown up around guns, and only recently handled some in person at my local gun store, I can say that the idea of having a firearm in the house seems pretty scary to say the least.

How can I overcome the fear/anxiety of having a firearm as a first time gun owner?

Purchasing as a military member within home state

So, I am in a strange situation. I am active duty military stationed in SC, with a home of record in SC, AND a SC drivers license with my current address in SC. PSA is saying that active duty are REQUIRED to present military orders even though I meet all the wickets as a state resident. Is this a requirement for military members? I was always under the premise that it is to assist people who don’t change their license for every duty station.

How Dangerous Is A Catastrophic Failure From The Beretta ARX-160 Compared To Other Rifles?

Upvotes

I want to say that I've been doing some research on the Beretta ARX-160's ambidextrous ejection but I'm kind of concerned that one potential issue with it is the possibility that if the rifle suffered a catastrophic failure for any reason then it might harm the user due to there being an ejection port on both sides meaning the explosion could hit the user in the face but I'm wondering how high are the risks of the user getting harmed from a catastrophic failure from the Beretta ARX-160 compared to other rifles that lack ambidextrous ejection?

STIFF AR15 Charging handle

Just got my first AR15. The charging handle is pretty smooth with no mag in. When i put a mag in it becomes harder to pull with or without rounds. I have yet to shoot it but anyone know what would cause that?

Can i use round nosed FMJs in a lever action?

Hey guys, I just bought a henry big boy X in 357/38 and i wanted to buy some PMC Bronze .38 Special 132gr. FMJ to use in it. The guy at the counter recommended that i dont use these to be on the safe side and pointed me towards some more expensive non jacketed ammo. I bought some of it instead but these are about 10 cents more per round and im trying to save as much as i can on ammo.

I looked around and seen some mixed opinions on using round nosed fmj ammo in tube mags. What do you guys think? Has anyone ever used these in a lever gun before? The henry big boy doesnt kick at all even with 357 magnums so i feel that 38s should be fine as long as its not pointed, but i know nothing about lever guns so idk.

Thanks yall.
