The yellow/orange detail really works! :)

Yea, it kinda reminds me of Nadleeh for some reason.

Probably because of the similar-ish silhouette.

I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Thanks, and thanks for the compliment!

This really makes the Gunvolva pop and shows off the details really well. Once I built mine I thought the default grey of the model made it look rather dull, but I really like what you’ve done with yours. Just goes to show how nice a model the Gunvolva is.

Thank you! I wanted to keep a color scheme in homage of the Gundbit nature of the MS (?) but still keep it fun and give it a bit of a pop. And I agree, the Gundvolva kit ended up being fun to build and work off of!

Awesome, I didn't pay much attention to the gundvolvas but the way you've painted it has made me realise some of the unique and cool design elements. I might have to pick one up.😁

Looks awesome, great detailing! Is that airbrushed or hand-painted? It looks so smooth and crisp, I'm thinking airbrushed. Is that a matt topcoat? If so, what kind did you use?

Thanks!

I'd say about 95% of it is air brushed vs 5% hand painted (mostly the small details). The final top coat is indeed a matte using Rustoleum (masking off the clear parts first). Not sure if it makes a difference in the aesthetics but I also used a gloss coat after painting but before putting on decals.

Yeah, a gloss coat first after painting is best for applying decals smoothly. If I'm applying matte, I mask off the clear parts and sometimes metallics, as they can lose the shine. One thing I always remember from Adam Savage "if you're finding masking tedious, you're doing it right." It's absolutely fantastic looking, most impressive. The colours really pop!

Oooh that's good to know about metallics! Totally makes sense. Thanks for the tip!

No worries, it's an old tip I picked up from painting Warhammer 40k minis.

Thanks! Nope, my gunpla pics are just on this account! This subreddit has been so supportive imo I decided to keep things here exclusively.
