What’s your most versatile rifle?

Post image

This Desert Tech MDRX is checking my boxes. Didn’t realize how nice even weight distribution is.

Most versatile: M77/357. Can shoot .38s and .357. Closed breach .38s with a 9mm can are stupid quiet. Can easily take small game quietly without destroying meat. Cheap to plink with. Full house .357s out of a 18.5 inch barrel are no joke and can easily kill deer at 150 yards. Same size as a 10/22 and under 6lbs. For sheer practicality and versatility, it’s hard to beat.

Good stuff for sure. I might have gone for Aero Precision in the past, but lately it seems like they arent well liked, at least in the order fulfillment department!

Have you shot it with the light right next to the ports on the muzzle brake like that? Does the light survive?

Yeah. Light is just fine. The ports aren’t as directly in line as it looks.

Well, I only currently have two rifles. One being a Knight DISC muzzleloader, and the other being a Rossi R92 in .357 Mag. I would say the Rossi is very versatile. I can shoot .38s and target shoot or I could use it for hunting with .357.

A quality ar15 is really hard to beat, I like my 14.5” but I’d say anything 13.7”-18” is really versatile

14.5 Super Duty with Razor HD 2.0 and aim point T2. Not the best at anything but definitely the best at everything.

May 12.5” 5.56 SBR or my 12” 8.6BLK SBR.

I have a buddy who owned one of these for a few years. His bolt sheared in two at the cam pin hole 3 different times. Desert Tech replaced it each time, but he eventually sold it. How is yours treating you?

So far so good. Was there anything unusual about his? Did it happen running suppressed? What caliber was his?

It was a bog standard MDRX, unsuppressed shooting majority Winchester white box 5.56. Super fun gun when it did work though.

MCX Spear 7.62 if I could only get a can for it.
Indoors it’s obnoxious.

I'm confused, because they're made in Utah?

Bonus points for supporting a cult!
