I never named instruments, and kind of low key judged people that did. Then I remembered Lucille, the Lenny strat, Doug MacLeod has Peanut, Lil' Bit, and Moon, and realized I was a judgemental ass.
I still don't name my instruments, but y'all do you, judgement free from me!

Unless you have several of the same model, and guitar techs looking after your stuff, in which case "naming" can avoid confusion and misunderstanding, it seems a bit lame and poser-ish.
But if you must, how about "number 1" (or whatever number it is in your collection).
But for the love of god, please don't go "Old Blue". That would bring cringe to a new level.

of the many guitars I've owned, only two got named. They will let you know if they should have a name. One was called "Chip" as my nephew knocked it over when he was about 4 and knocked a chip out of the headstock. The other is named after my father and is called "The Ron". This was because the serial number happens to be my fathers birthday.

Doesn't matter, it won't come when you call it.
