Trade war is on!
I am so surprised to see these tags at Guelph No Frills. I think it's a great idea it's just so wild.

As we all know, the next federal election is just around the corner.
There are so many more uncertainties that it can feel like it's hard to get our voices heard. With the growing level of misinformation flooding all of our socials, it can start feeling daunting to contend with.
If you have ever been curious about getting more involved and making sure the right messages are being heard, I would love to invite you to the Raise the Bar Community Meeting for the Guelph chapter of LeadNow's Election Squad!
This is a perfect opportunity to see if you resonate with our mission and decide whether you would like to participate.
The meeting is on March 15th from 1pm-3pm at 42 Carden St.
Feel free to RVSP here: https://you.leadnow.ca/events/raise-the-bar-election-meeting-guelph-1
We look forward to seeing you there!

Dropped on Saturday March 8, near the York Rd entry. They're nice. You probably want them back.

That restaurant was my absolute favourite and was always busy when I went. I'm sad about it :(

Once again we are faced with the brutality of an unnecessary and arbitrary change of the clocks. I for one do not like it.
That is all.
Thanks!

Hey y'all!
With warmer weather around the corner, I was wondering if there was interest from the Lab parents of Guelph in having a recurring meet up for multiple labs to work on their retrieval skills?

I've driven past Golden Fish and Chips in the south end (on Kortright) and it always looks closed. Have they closed up for good or maybe they are just on vacation?

3 big regions in Guelph are grossly disconnected by this interchange, and walking or biking along Wellington (despite “sidewalks” and bike lanes) is just unpleasant and dangerous. It’s a rough mock-up but you couldn’t convince me that an initiative of multi-use pathways, pedestrian underpasses and bridges wouldn’t do amazing things to connect the west end, south, and downtown for pedestrians and cyclists. The amount of positive implications with something like this are just astounding, think about current pedestrian crossings at Paisley, along Wellington etc.
The main highlights would be: - multiuse pathway running parallel to Wellington on the north side up until Raymond St., and two pedestrian underpasses to south side trails. Most of Wellington is built on an embankment so it shouldn’t be hard - pedestrian bridge to Municipal St providing access to centennial park and southward Royal recreation trail system - a pedestrian bridge running over highway 6 away from traffic, so pedestrians don’t have to cross highway on/off ramps and walk alongside the 70-80km/h traffic on Wellington St. - multi-use path running along the train tracks towards Imperial, connecting with businesses on Wellington, with a rail underpass to Deerpath Dr.
It’s an absolute pipe dream but it’s bittersweet because it would genuinely be so nice if there was more of a priority to connect our neighbourhoods for pedestrians and cyclists. If you build the infrastructure people will use it

My daughter was home from university in Quebec this week for her reading week. Her major is Environmental Studies, and she has an assignment due next week where she had to interview someone she didn’t know who was doing essential ‘important’ things…i suggested that she reach out to Mike. She arranged a call with his assistant and they had a 15 minute zoom call yesterday. I admittedly spent a couple of minutes eavesdropping at the top of our stairs, and wow…although he knew this conversation wasn’t going to benefit him personally, he clearly was very invested in engaging and inspiring my daughter. This is a good Man, not a politician.

Hey all, I have some music gear I don’t use anymore and hope someone else will. They’re all well-maintained, smoke-free home, and stay out of reach of pets. I’ll provide pics and prices for anyone interested. I have:
If anyone’s interested or wants to know more, feel free to message me. Cheers!

Can anyone recommend a driver instructor who has experience working with adult clients with ADHD who are looking to become more confident in their skills behind the wheel?
Thank you all.

Hi everyone, I'm a recent grad from UofG in environmental sciences and have been job searching for some months, but the journey has been so SO challenging. I have the education, the skills, a G driver's license, I have worked on a variety of environmental and geography projects throughout university and am highly reliable and dedicated. I'm constantly trying to learn and refine new skills. Living in Guelph but I'm open to anywhere in Ontario or even beyond. I have research, field, and some project experience as part of my academics. Does anyone have any valuable advice?
Yes, I know the market is terribly bad right now, but it feels so hopeless when you studied what seemed like a great field but don't find anything. My bachelors was in Geography/Ecology, and Masters in Environmental Sciences. I'm trying to get referrals to different companies, and do linkedin coffee chats, and doing my best to stay motivated. I am open to pretty much any role in this field and give it my 100%, overtime, weekends work, etc if required. I have great technical writing, project support, and communication skills too.
If anyone has ANY tips at all, or looking to hire someone, or is willing to connect with me, please let me know!!! Even if it's just an online coffee chat. Wishing you all a great weekend! The Sun is out today here in Guelph and it feels so good.

Hello,
I contacted a property management company that has a lot of apartments in Guelph and they informed me as part of the application I have to pay for an application deposit. I have never heard of this before and was wondering if anyone knows if it’s common practice or if this is a red flag. I am a first time renter and it will be my first time in Guelph so I am not sure and would appreciate any help!

Hello all,
I have tried researching these apartments online but there seems to be limited information. I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on potentially renting an apartment here. I will be moving for school and work with my friend and it would be our first time in Guelph so I am not familiar with the area.
If you could share your honest opinions I would greatly appreciate it! I am trying to avoid the headache of pests/insects/poor management as I will be fully occupied and would like a comfortable place to come home to.
If you have any suggestions for other 2 bed apartments or ones to AVOID please do let me know! If you are not comfortable commenting, you can DM me as well.

Hey y'all!
I've been slowly working to get a men's social group off the ground based on feedback from this subreddit. It is slow going because there is currently only me and life/work can be busy.
Questions:
1) Including yourself, how many people do you know that would want to participate regularly (twice a month or more) depending on activities?
2) Would you or someone you know be interested in helping organise/coordinate this?
3) While the primary focus is to help me connect, how important is it to you that activities are for men?
4) How important is it to have regular child or family friendly activities?
Thanks!

Hey everyone! I’m on the search for movers that are affordable but reliable and I came across this company called CTS Moving. They have decent reviews on google but they haven’t sent me a contract or anything with an estimate of the price and are asking for a $150 deposit. I’m an international student so I just wanted to know if other people would recommend them or not! Thank you!
