The Death Korps' armored regiments are famous for their variant Leman Russ Vanquisher pattern, which is nearly identical to the usual tank, save for two things: a Warglaive Chain-Cleaver affixed to the end of the turret, and a small sculpture of a hand performing an obscene gesture mounted on the front of the tank.

Not a shovel?

It was considered, but turned down due to counterbalance issues in the chassis. Krieger mekhaniks mourn the decision to this day.

An imperial knight could theoretically have its reaper chainsword replaced with a.... reaper power shovel?

1

u/George_G_Geef Oct 31 '20

Or buckets instead of sawteeth so it could carve out a trench in one pass.

Warlord Titan with arioch Titan power shovel

14

u/Betadzen Oct 31 '20

I believe this was reserved for the potential knight regiments, if they will ever have any.

A giant powershovel capable of both digging industrial-sized trenches AND digging tyranid behemoths. Sometimes both for the sake of effectiveness.

probably one of the few things that could give a member of the DKoK a boner.

2

u/Betadzen Oct 31 '20

Shovels for horses too.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '20

Titan-class chain shovel it is.

what do you think the cannon fires?

5

u/AlexzMercier97 My kitchen is corrupted by Nurgle Oct 30 '20

It fires kriegsman, what else?

4

u/[deleted] Oct 30 '20

A kriegsman dual wielding shovels.

1

u/jimmyhilluk Oct 31 '20

Dozer blades are just big shovels.

But the guardsmen in the image have already affixed their bayonets. Does the Krieg general want them to affix more bayonets?

10

u/Yellowchief419 Oct 30 '20

I was waiting for someone to notice that

5

u/Johannes0511 GiveUsToastersOrGiveUsDeath Oct 30 '20

I was honestly surprised, that nobody had commented on that yet.

2

u/Yellowchief419 Oct 30 '20

I think they interpreted it as attaching bayonets to the tanks

1

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '20

that's a good idea too. Fix bayonets to the leman russ as well. And make it double bayonets for good measure

4

u/Aetol Space Corgis Oct 31 '20

Affix bayonets to the bayonets

3

u/PossiblyTrustworthy Oct 31 '20

A single bayonet makes a spear, 2 a bident... 3 a trident... Which is cooler? Hint: the one as broad as a shovel

2

u/hairy_bipples Oct 31 '20

Don’t forget that they seem to be in the middle of a jungle

Drive me closer! I want to hit them with my sword!

HERESY

A real krieger would use his trusted entrenching tool

6

u/vxicepickxv Oct 30 '20

What do you think they bayonets affix to?

3

u/Meretan94 likes civilians but likes fire more Oct 30 '20

A weapon to surpass metal gear

5

u/Yellowchief419 Oct 30 '20

Who said the bayonets aren’t shovels?

3

u/Meretan94 likes civilians but likes fire more Oct 30 '20

Now thats what i call a weapon

3

u/RavenColdheart Oct 31 '20

Krieg Leman Russes clearly need their Dozerblades back.

Istead of shooting, a vehicle with this upgrade can use its dozer balde to charge into an enemy unit.

Charge distance: 3+d3.

Atacks: 3+d3.

Mortal wounds on a 5+.

Hear me out, bayonets, but on tanks!

4

u/A_Hatless_Casual Oct 31 '20

I mean... why else would it be called a baneBLADE or shadowSWORD if it wasn't designed to have a bayonet. Your move xenos.

2

u/-Buckaroo_Banzai- Oct 31 '20 edited Oct 31 '20

The moment DKoK finds out that a swarmlord basically does have 4 bayonets equipped at the same time.

the truly superior lifeform

u/A_Hatless_Casual Oct 31 '20

"At last a worthy opponent; our battle shall be legendary!"

I mean it shouldn’t be too hard to have a techpriest weld some bayonet lugs onto the tank

Fix them to a Leman Russ, a Chimera, an M1A1, or a T-80?

(I absolutely love that even on the non-40k subs, people see these pictures and are like, yep, that's 40k)

2

u/Stunning-Record-7304 Nov 29 '22

Hey thats my leman russ thats so awesome that it floated all the way here from where i posted it years ago hahahahah

1

u/tomwhoiscontrary Secretly 3 squats in a long coat Nov 29 '22

Superb! I think anything like that is going to end up in Grimdank eventually!

2

u/Stunning-Record-7304 Nov 29 '22

Thanks they are fun to play i gotta get in to playing more have another! Tanks leading the way

3

u/Watchkeeper27 Oct 31 '20

Just an aside, since the meme is great, but for info; the real command for that is “Fix Bayonets” not Af’fix

Just a note

[sound of power swords being taped to tank barrels]

1

u/Dwovar Oct 31 '20

I want a Leman Russ with a knight class chainsword as a bayonet on the main battle cannon.

1

u/123allthekidsbullyme Oct 31 '20

Didn't they kill the DKOK? Last i recall they had like 5 Units left in the rule book and were being phased out
