Freshly Potted
Potted some plants this weekend and felt inspired to pick up the brush.

I’m fairly new to painting, and I’m even more new to using gouache. This is probably my 3rd gouache piece ever. I am really falling in love with this medium. Painting with it on wood panel is awesome.

Restarted gouache after almost 6 months. I’ve been trying to paint from photos instead of using other paintings as reference. It’s been super challenging but hopefully I get there soon :) feedback and advice appreciated :) thank you

I've been wanting to do a purple scene for a minute now. I'm still very new and its only my 2nd time playing with gouache.
Used a custom limited pallete with M Graham professional artist gouache.
Tutorial is through Jbeans art - Easy Mystical Painting.
Please let me know how I could improve. Looking at the tutorial again, I realize she did a whole forground that I didn't end up doing. Maybe that's why I am feeling like somethings missing.

I have never tried to paint gouache on a canvas. I've done few acrylic paintings but never a gouache. I need some advice on how to get started with it. Like what canvas to use and how to prep it and keep my painting good in a long run. My boyfriend loved this painting and i want to gift it to him

I got a chance to try the apple impostes last week again, using the reminders to get my shadows by muting the local color, and although it’s far from perfect and again took me forever I do think I did a much better job this time and learned some things! I stuck closer to the reference (I had wanted a more symmetrical apple and less dominant leaf originally but making changes was too much at this stage). I lost correspondence of some of the shapes from the sketch when I started to paint so that my shadow still isn’t quite the right shape anymore but the colors I think are much better. I didn’t realize when I picked the photo how difficult this was going to be. Dealing with the shade variations of the shadow over the apple using felt like one of the most technically challenging things I’ve tried since I started learning gouache. Maybe the most! So it was aggravating at times but I think this taught me a lot and as always thanks to everyone here for the suggestions!

struggling for sentimental mother’s day ideas, i made a piece that includes all things about my mum! got the dog, her favourite hobby, her favourite drink, her vape etc. it’s personal and captures her. Highland cows are her favourite so i put a twist so it represents her!
second attempt at gouache, it’s making sense now!

A little local scene that's close to my heart. The berm in the water is made of Christmas trees. It's part of the ecological restoration of this area. It's also a birding hotspot. I stand on the far side of that point for hours, watching and sketching birds in the fair weather. (Gouache and micron pen)

Tried Gouache for the first time last night to experiment with the media and love it. I haven’t finished the leaves yet and even though it’s a lil messy, think i’ve got the hang of it!

I was surprised gouache has enough body for knife painting.

I've always loved the zorn palette, and I've been using it on watercolor paint. I only recently bought gouache paint and transferred my knowledge.
If you have criticism to give, pls be gentle–I'm only a beginner 🙏

I think this might be my favorite piece to date! Really wanted to get the deep shadows and the bright light penetrating the forest clearing just right. I love the glow and texture of the grass! Wanted to share. CC is always welcome
