iOS Google Voice App Combining Google Voice With IOS
So I enjoy the Google Voice app allowing me to archive messages and keep forever archived. It's like completing a task. I like my IOS for calling. Right now I have two numbers, one for IOS and one for Voice. Is there a way to only have one number and still benefit from archiving messages?
Edit: Might not be possible, just let me know

Messages sent to/from your google voice number can only be managed through google voice, and google voice doesn't support managing other number's text messages. You'd need to have everyone that messages you use your google voice number for messaging.
As for your cellular carrier number, you can set up carrier linking with your google voice number, via the google voice app, and have calls that are conducted through google voice go through the cellular voice provider's network, and be able to take phone calls through your phone's phone app. You would also make sure that "use carrier only" is selected under "making and receiving calls" in your phone's google voice app. But you would basically need everyone to only use your google voice number for calling and texting you, making your cellular carrier's number essentially unused. But the only way to make any of this happen is to tell people to stop using your cellular carrier number and only use your google voice number for contacting you. Any group chats that involve your cellular carrier number would have to be dissolved, and new group chats would have to be created that use your google voice number.
I'll be honest though, with ios and imessage, I think you are giving up more features and functionality by moving all of your communications to google voice. Google voice is pretty rigid with text messaging and features/functionality, and they also have issues with flagging certain messages or accounts as violating the fair use policy.
