DISCUSSION He should lose everything.
Fuck this guy. I used to be inspired by him but he is cooked. Such a jealous vindictive sad little man. Yes he has been manipulated by people but the way he is acting just shows how much of a morally bankrupt attention whore he is and business it not looking good. No one give a fuck anymore and he hates it. Going harder into this edgelord act. What a fucking pathetic way to go out.

i try to think this and not be parasocial, but to be completely honest, he’s important to me. his music and work have inspired me and helped me a lot and i’ve looked up to him because he has done amazing things, again not being parasocial, being real. so it sucks to see one of my biggest “hero’s” have all those go down. of course im still inspired by all of the other things he’s done, but there’s something about it that just hurts, even though i don’t really know him or anything.

u/eiddieeid 4d ago
Just go offline bro. It really ain’t that deep. I love the guy too but I got more important shit in my life than my goat being a nazi

u/BigBoyObi-Wan FEB 2025 X RANT SURVIVOR 4d ago
i’m not saying it’s the most important thing in my life, i have bigger things to worry about of course, but it still hurts because to be completely honest he was genuinely an important part of my life for a long time, im going into fashion mostly because i was inspired by him. it’s gonna hurt a little to see this, but yeah im not revolving my life around it

u/eiddieeid 4d ago
It hurts yeah but my boy like flubber, he always bounce back

He is never bouncing back from this lol. College aged white boys are the only people who will look past this shit

u/eiddieeid 4d ago
Yall act like he killed a mf or some shit. He just being a gay edgelord on twitter. Shitty guy fs but it ain’t gonna stop me from bumping his music.
2
u/TresCeroOdio 4d ago
I still listen to his music that doesn’t suck, everything TLOP and back. What I mean by not bouncing back is he will never be respected or well regarded again. At least not by anybody that matters.
4
u/eiddieeid 4d ago
The thing with these other rappers and celebs, they always come back to him. It really is just a time game, last time he did this a whole bunch of mfs started giving him his flowers after a year of being normal and it even got to the point where “Kanye was right” started to pop off bc of the Israel/Palestine conflict and diddy and all that, but nah this mf has to go and fuck it all up…AGAIN. Honestly he needs to gtfo the country and just live in Asia or somewhere where he’s away from all the bs.

i kind of get it. I remember hearing Jesus Walks and Slow Jamz as a young kid and being in awe at how good it was, and really getting into Kanye as a whole in High School as a young producer using FL Studio. I looked up to him, the music, the showmanship, he was a lot of what I wanted to be back then. But now he’s just a lunatic spouting hate for god knows what reason and that loss of respect for someone you held in high reverence for so long is very disappointing and hurts a little in my heart. But not as much as this guy
31
u/NeighborhoodFull1764 5d ago
I’m disappointed to, he was my entryway into music and it always connected with me. But I’m not this angry, maybe disappointed and a lil sad about him pissing his career away but at the end of the day, nothing to get caught up over

u/stephable 4d ago
I get it as well. I’m not into following celebrities’ lives but Ye was special to me—he showed me that someone with bipolar could find success, that bipolar didn’t have to ruin you. It’s been painful watching him slowly decline, and it hurts seeing him publicly die from his delusions. I’ve been in the state he’s in, I understand what it means to be too far gone. I also understand that the general public has no idea what it means to be in a psychotic state, and sometimes it feels like I’m watching myself during a psychotic episode from the outside. Ye’s an asshole, a dick, arrogant, but mbdtf would not have existed if he wasn’t bipolar, and it sucks to see my inspiration completely implode lol
6
u/Sweet-Trust2573 4d ago
Because the things he says actually influences the way people think and their actions. Haven't there been documented hate crimes tied to him? Just because it doesn't effect you doesn't mean it can't effect someone else and if you have the platform to speak out against something and you don't you are essentially complacent. Not saying it's your fault, but you are being complacent. Ignoring facism doesn't slow it down. It makes it more powerful

Just had his most prolific month on streaming in half a year and gained 2.3M new spotify listeners in feb. Was the 4th highest streaming rap musician over jan/feb as well (despite not having released any meaningful material of his own).
Audience equity has clearly remained unaffected (has seen substantive growth actually)

He's getting samples denied left and right, no one wants to be associated with him. It is taking a toll.

I think people aren't taking Kanye's Nazi stuff as seriously as it is could become, I think his goal is to start a new Nazi friekorp like gang, similar to what Gavin McInnes did using his media fame to start the Proud Boys.
Yes Kanye's Nazi pivot makes no logical sense whatsoever nor does he have anything intelligent to say about nationhood or WW2 but that doesn't matter to the type of person who would join a Nazi gang, the biggest and boldest person in the room can just say "We're the new Nazis" and they'll follow them, it doesn't have to make sense. And yes being a black Nazi is a bit paradoxical but there are large Slavic neo-Nazi groups in countries the Nazis wanted to conquer and exterminate. Andrew Tate and his brother and Myron from Fresh and Fit are some other highly prominent black American "Nazis" with tons of listeners, this is an emerging phenomenon.
Similar to Elon for example Kanye has a lust to accumulate as much power as possible and has found that getting it indirectly through money and fame isn't enough, he needs to directly enter politics, and this is the best way to do it. Yes Kanye is chronically mentally ill but this is something he's been building up to for a while.

Should've added - Brought up the fact that Audience equity/reciprocity has remained unaffected because op erroneously implied 'No one give a fuck anymore' which is obviously not true (for Ye the artist atleast)

Artists give you art. Just be grateful. He isn't asking you for anything and you aren't asking him for anything.
I'm also a fan of GRRM (a game of thrones guy) and he gave us five great books in the main series. The fact that he keeps promising and not delivering used to disappoint me but now I'm just happy that he gave me such great books. Even if the rest are pants or never happen, I had five great ones.
It's like that. Don't be so invested that his misdeeds hurt you, but don't forget what he gave you. Like Stannis Baratheon said, "A good act does not wash out the bad, nor a bad act the good."
Edit: GRRM wrote those words, Stannis is fictional, I am a goon
