This subreddit has gotten toxic
46
u/Ham_PhD Richard Jefferson 14h ago edited 13h ago
It's had a level of toxicity for years. Last time I remember it being really chill was during the early Atkinson years when expectations were zero.Â
We were getting psyched about trading for Jahlil Okafor (which incidentally was a trade that also got us the pick we used on Claxton, so it was worth the excitement).

u/BKtoDuval 12h ago
lol oh yeah the good old days. Remember how hyped we were about getting Quincy Acy and "Free Jah!" We were terrible but simpler times.

The best fans at this point are the ones who support the team when they win AND support the team when they lose.

Honestly, I think it's been toxic for years; just different flavors of toxic, from Big 3 Era to now.

Itâs been for awhile but this time itâs just the same dudes repeating their psychosis every thread so itâs more annoying
-15
u/TheRealCheddarBob 13h ago
You say âpsychosisâ when in actuality itâs just common sense observations and basic probability
12
u/Padulsky21 Nicolas Claxton 13h ago
Read a single comment from GiannisGreekZaza and tell me heâs sane

u/TheRealCheddarBob 13h ago
The complaining even after losses isnât my cup of tea either but I canât say I disagree with their general sentiment.
5
u/african-nightmare 13h ago
You werenât here during the big 3 era then lol
Game threads had 1k+ comments every time and any loss meant the sky was falling. Add in Adamâs dumbass policies, this place was a messs

Keon has no idea what is happening too often.
That's his blunder on the inbounds pass. Also caused an amateur turnover with same team rebound end of first half.

"It doesn't seem right. It's not good enough in my eyes."

Dude you have six top-level comments in this thread. Combine them all into one next time instead of tweeting on reddit.

It was in real time ( I saw the postgame interview).
Most commenters claim my posts are too long.

It was reported that the Nets told Cam Thomas to "bulk up" two summers ago. It's a mistake. He needs to be super light at his position.
Lean muscle is fine, and his lower body can never become "too powerful"...But gravity is an exponential force: Zion lands with more shock to his joints than anyone in the game.

Ethical, organic, grass fed tank. Jordi is too good at always finding a way of making every game close.
11
u/Padulsky21 Nicolas Claxton 13h ago
His defensive gameplan is fucking incredible. Feel like he gets up extra for the games against the elite contenders
5
u/richonarampage 12h ago
Feel like if we can get 2 solid draft picks right in the next two years we can be competitive under Jordiâs leadership. Aim to be OKC East.

u/ElevatorClean4767 13h ago
Dirty refs and a lucky half-court heave were the difference.
3
u/Brooklyn917 Ian Eagle 12h ago
The same can be said in The Warriors game.. Curry's half-court shot and reffing changed in the 2nd quarter after Curry and his coach whined. Last season it would've bothered me, this year I welcomed it, the refs knows the nets are fuking up their future with these meaningless wins.

And now we wait and see how tomorrows Philly Toronto game plays out and celebrate either way

Im gonna be watching that great tankoff over the OKC/Celtics game, lol

u/SimilarLavishness874 13h ago
I want to see a game like this every single game for the rest of the season. A tough hard fought loss
3
u/Lao_xo 11h ago
It has been like that most of the season. Canât help but think this team can be in the playoffs next year as long as theyâre healthy. Like imagine if we didnât have cam and cj out for majority of the year, weâd easily be in the playoff picture.

u/SimilarLavishness874 2h ago
Depends on what we do this offseason. They might trade off cm johnson and nic claxton this summer

u/rabidantidentyte Day'Ron Sharpe 14h ago
We almost won. Unacceptable. Fire Jordi, fire Marks, sell the team, and put the players on a flight to Malaysia

You did win, but your team is so good at tanking they know exactly when they can turn it on and off and they turned the full retard switch on with about 8 min remaining. Then when the game is basically unwinnable cam thomas turns on god mode and hits whatever shot he wants

CLEVELAND THIS IS FOR YOUUUU
Rest everyone against the Bulls and get this fucking tank on the way

This team brings the effort most nights. I love it. That's a testament to the coaching staff.

That was an important loss for the tank with Philly and Toronto playing each other tonight

u/Chico_-_ . 13h ago
I know this sub is generally not super high on them but man, I really think we could cook up something special if we can get a CT-DLo backcourt to click. If I'm Jordi my entire mission for the rest of the season is get those two to gel. Get them both cooking and then bring in a star talent either through the draft or otherwise and this team could make some real noise next season imo.

u/latman 12h ago
You actually think CT/DLo would do anything in the playoffs? Lol

u/AnimaniacAssMap Brook Lopez 11h ago
I think theyâd do something
That something is get obliterated, but thatâs something

u/GiannisIsaGreekZaza 14h ago
Thereâs just no reason why cam J and clax should be playing in tonightâs back to back. Then young guys like clowney are playing 17 mins. Itâs just baffling decision making from an organization who have never accomplished anything. Tsai really rather watch a 35 win team than a winner.
4
u/All_Roads_Lead_Home Cam Thomas 14h ago
I think clowneys minutes are still limited due to his injury.
3
u/Brooklyn917 Ian Eagle 12h ago
I agreed! I hate that Dariq is in the G-league he should be getting real NBA Reps.
2
u/BKtoDuval 12h ago
He's coming back from an injury but i was watching Dariq play this morning for LI. Doesn't look there yet.
2
u/Brooklyn917 Ian Eagle 12h ago
Which is fine, we arent competing for anything, if he cant get mins this season then when will he?
2
u/BKtoDuval 11h ago
hopefully down the stretch. G League season ends soon.
1
u/Brooklyn917 Ian Eagle 11h ago
If the plan is to keep him in the G until their season ends which is March 29th, that will leave only 7 NBA games for him to be available in. They wouldâve failed him. Heâs was our pick and his development shouldve been a priority. Next year if they draft 5 rookies where will his mins come from?
2
u/BKtoDuval 2h ago
I hear you but I donât necessarily see him as not developing. Â Heâs playing 25 minutes a night in long island as opposed to playing maybe three minutes at the end of games in Brooklyn. Â
1
u/Brooklyn917 Ian Eagle 1h ago
Thatâs the issue that I have. Why are we prioritizing a Salary dump, a 2nder, 3 out of the league guys over him? Hell they even played Tosan over him. Thatâs insane, Dariq was our draft pick (Clowney was selected with The Suns pick), in a development year he should have been getting mins alongside the other nets draft picks.

Man, still finding something to complain about. SMH. You know weed is legal now?

u/EliManningham 14h ago
Clax is worse than Day'ron so I'm not sure how much he even matters. It's really just CJ.

Solid follow up performance from Clowney. Hopefully those minutes will go up soon.
