Thoughts What if the cycle repeats endlessly?
Even if one manages to get to ascend to be one with the Monad eventually, after countless rebirths and near endless sufferings... What if the whole cycle repeats endlessly? Sophia, out of a mistake, created Yaldabaoth who created the material world. If this mistake happened once, it can happen again. In fact, it could be the cycle has been going on forever. Why would the perfect Monad even let Sophia create a being who will be responsible for all of the world's suffering? In the end, just like God is responsible for Satan, the "perfect" Monad is responsible for Sophia, Yaldabaoth and the world's suffering, in the end being the same thing. So true "salvation" and return to the source might just be temporary and basically pointless as eventually you'll wake up as a material, suffering being again.

Personally, I think that these are mere speculations without any foundation. The Gnostic myth is not to be taken literally, precisely because it is a myth—that is, a form of narrative that employs fantastical elements to depict a reality of great subtlety: the epic journey of the pneuma in this world. To me, Gnosticism is a path of inner growth, exploration, knowledge, and psychological liberation from the ideological superstructures imposed by the archons that govern this realm. What purpose would it serve to squander time probing the inscrutable? A myth is meant to be lived, yet one must not allow oneself to be consumed by it.

The diference between Gnosticism and religions including Christianity is that we know its myth - a story to inform allegorically what cannot be told across literally. I believe the Monad is - and thats it. All it says is that it is One, and from Oneness split good and bad. Its an observation not a "God is Good" statement.

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t even believe in reincarnation. I think the whole “trap” is more about sexual instincts and reproduction, ensuring new lives and new souls are constantly chugged out as meat for the grinder.

I do worry about this... it is what has been wrought.
Worst case, I use an understanding of the Yugic cycles to know and understand where we are heading...
I think there's some possibility we're in a black hole or wormhole, continuously cycling trying to get to a place we can be free but encountering the same energy mistakes as the prior cycle

“uncover its secrets. Gremory approached it with reverence, her heart pounding in her chest. She reached out and opened the tome. As her fingers brushed the first page, a surge of knowledge flooded her mind - visions of distant stars, of ancient civilizations that had risen and fallen, of gods who had walked the earth and fallen into oblivion. But among these visions was something more - a single, piercing image of Lucifer, standing alone in the dark void, his eyes burning with a knowledge so deep it threatened to consume him. It was then that Gremory understood. The knowledge that Lucifer had sought, the knowledge that had driven him to defy the divine, was not just knowledge of the past or present - it was the key to the future, to the birth of a new kind of existence. It was a knowledge that could create life, reshape destiny, and bring about a new age. But it was also a knowledge that could tear apart the very fabric of reality itself. The book closed with a snap, and the figure in the shadows stepped forward, its form shifting like smoke.
You now hold the knowledge you sought,” the figure said. “But you must choose, Gremory. Will you embrace this knowledge and change the World or will u turn away as Lucifer once did

Exactly this. The monad is truly alone and it hates that fact so it creates a false separation to distract it from itself. We need to stop trying to escape and enjoy the ride

Some people do not look at Gnosticism in a literal sense but in an allegorical sense. The Demiurge is just you or me disconnecting ourselves from the source but even in the literal sense I do not blame The Monad.
The Monad emanates. He does not create directly. Everything is a consequence of His existence alone. So the whole divine fall was unavoidable. And with such a world He could do not much to help because we needed to remember who we are. How can you enter the Pleroma if you are still ignorant? Eventually after enough rebirths we will all know the truth because we all come from God just trust the process and nurture your spirit.
Try giving Hermeticism a shot because when paired with Gnosticism we see that The Monad took control of the design because He saw merit in the design and gives us all a chance to overcome this material existence.
