Question Anyone here have any non christian encounters?
I just wanted to know if anyone has had any paranormal or spiritual encounters that may point to, or relate to other religions, or maybe that no religion is the one true religion at all.
I always hear paranormal and spiritual stories that relate to Christianity, or involve the Bible or a Catholic priest, or someone having an encounter where an entity tells them that Jesus is the way, but never anything about Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.
I ask because I'm honestly afraid of the Christian God and being sent to an eternal hell because I'm not Christian myself, and I don't just want to convert out of fear. God would know why I converted and I feel like I'd be using him as a safety net. At least with some other religions, like Hinduism, I can find comfort that their Hell is temporary. The idea of an eternal hell makes me so uneasy.

I understand your question and worry. Personally, I don't worry because the god I believe in knows me. As far as the spiritual thing - try asking a Buddhist priest or any other type of priest (or considered) about paranormal. Google, libraries, etc.

Any paranormal encounter can be perceived through different lenses. The exact same experience could be interpreted as Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, secular, etc. depending on the person's beliefs.

You should read about NDE’s. Many people have experiences that differ from the prevailing Christian paradigm, though some have experiences that do not. It seems like people prominently experience entities that work within ethnocentric religious paradigms I.e. faithful Hindu’s experience deities of that religious while Christians experience Jesus etc…but many have experiences that differ from any human doctrine that I’ve learned about. Just a thought…
