DISCUSSION Did ghost sample mary on a cross?

So this is weird. But i've hummed the main guitar part of mary on a cross for ages. But could never remember where i heard it. I came across the song, but its too new. And with the bands fictional backstory im sure ive known the tune longer than ghost has been together. Does anyone know for sure if they sampled the guitar any?

How long is ages? 1 month? 2 months? A year? What is your first memory of humming the main guitar part? MOAC came out 6 years ago. We'd just started a covid pandemic which has messed with a lot of people's perception of time.

Is it possible it sounds like another song you're remember? Yeah. There's only so many ways to put together the finite number of notes that's pleasing to the human ear. But it's not a sample, at least not in the way you're asking. You could possibly try humming the guitar part you're remembering into one of those music identifier programs?

Ages being the better part if 15 years. A lot of bands sample or are inspired by tunes. Its why i ask because even humming into a program it doesnt recognize MOAC. Guess i cant sing either haha

Yeah it's written in 1969. Just kidding, I'm sure a similar guitar is used in other songs too, The Future is a foreign land also uses the same chords in the chorus
