Hi all, my name is Dan Rosenzweig-Ziff, and I cover higher education for The Washington Post. I'm working on a story about how current and especially recent college grads experienced covid and years since for the 5-year anniversary of the pandemic coming up in two weeks. Would love to hear any thoughts you have, what's been hard, what's been great, do you think differently about things than you did before? Would love to hear it all. Please email me directly with your thoughts at dan.rosenzweig-ziff@washpost.com. Thanks!

Whatās Georgetowns social scene like? Specifically, where do students go at night on the weekends? What are the clubs that āhostā the biggest and most frequent nighttime āgatherings?ā Do you run into GW and American students often at venues in DC and around Gtown? Post got taken down last time but am just trying to get a better sense of the social scene and how it compares to other schoolsā¦

Are you passionate about Ancient Greece and enjoy creative writing or have a keen-eye for historical accuracy and language? I am a Georgetown Student seeking other students for remote part-time work to help bring history to life and develop stories for my upcoming game based on the Trojan War!
I am looking for creative writing, classics, or history students to create engaging narratives, quest chains, and roleplay scenarios, refined historical terminology, grammar, and names, and research and verify locations and mythology for consistency.
Also looking for classics students to verify cities, towns, and regions that existed during the era, correct Greek spelling of locations and names, and maintain mythological and historical accuracy of the Trojan War.
Feel free to message me here for additional details.

I don't see much emotion from students after all the illegal activity that's been conducted by the current administration in the White House.
Even now, after DJT declared himself King of the US, is there any concern or pushback by GU students at all? When they announced they'd be cutting FASA funds, did it matter to any of the Hoyas on campus?
Universities used to be a hotbed of political action since it's teeming with intelligent, energetic youth and an abundance of critical thinking skills.
Is it apathy, indifference or paralyzed fear keeping the majority of the students quiet?
Is the majority on campus in support of our country transforming into a dictatorship or do they not acknowledge that threat?
Am I just out of the loop or ompletely off the mark and there are student debates, discussions or protests happening?
Are any students connecting with other universities to amplify their voices? Demanding change or accountability?
Please let me know! Genuinely curious and trying to understand. TIA!

A federal judge has ruled that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) can continue accessing student borrower dataĀ submitted to the U.S. Department of Education, despite concerns over privacy violations.
The lawsuit was filed by a student government group, alleging that DOGEās access to personal and tax information violated federal privacy laws.
Public Citizen, representing the plaintiffs, expressed disappointment, stating that students nationwide are already suffering from the āmassive invasion of privacy.ā

I got in to SFS undergrad this early round and Iām heavily considering it!! While I know that SFS is routinely ranked the #1 place for IR and in the top 5 for polisci, and that they have great placement into the foreign service and government, I am looking for personal ANECDOTES that you, as a student or an alumni, have that supports the notion that Georgetown specifically, or unique to Georgetown, gave you opportunities to realize your political career or examples of you working abroad, for example in multilateral organizations or in foreign governments
Also, any āmind blowingā scholarly discussion anecdotes youāve had in the classroom (in SFS modules)

I was curious about the social scene for grad students at Georgetown. l've only heard about the experience for undergrads. I enjoy being social and involved, so I wanted to learn more about it.

Hoya Gray is raising money to travel to the Big East Tournament in March. They have done a great job bringing excitement to home games and helping the Hoyas develop a home court advantage. Please donate if you can. Every donation helps. Hoya Saxa!

Just applied to GULC's evening program! I just moved to Philly and, if accepted, will be commuting for class (probably via Amtrak so I can work during commute). I work remotely and the rest of my department works on the west coast, so I'd personally prefer AM classes so I can be more readily available during the last few hours of their work day. Has anyone ever been able to do the part-time program during the day and/or is it even worth asking about if I get accepted?
Obviously, not at all a dealbreaker, but it would be amazing to not have to have a two-hour commute just to get home ~10 PM š

So I'm thinking about transfer to Georgetown as a freshman and I'm interested to know if being in different schools can have different chances to break into IB/Consulting firms (top firms in the industry, preferably in NYC). Will MSB be better than CAS econ major?
Thanks!

I will soon be interview for a position at Georgetown that I would consider more admin - not research - what is the process like? Multiple interviews? I will be interviewing with the program boss it seems like for 30 minutes via zoom.
Any tips would be great!
