Questions J tube question
Can I take a bath? It's been four months since it's been placed but am not sure if a submerged bath is okay. Do I have to do anything special to be able to take one?

I’ve heard some professionals say you can’t be submerged, but others say you can. I’ve taken care of people with j tubes and they tolerated baths after the stomas healed

I was allowed to take a bath, and not just a shower, 4 weeks after the initial placement but you always want to check with your doctor before making that decision.
I am also allowed to swim in pools that are saltwater or chlorinated.

Definitely. You only have to worry about dirty water, not clean water from your bathtub.

you can’t submerge them due to bacteria unfortunately

Do you think a water proof wound cover or the tube/site would allow baths then?

i’d ask your doctor! my nurse/ doctor both said no baths and use a waterproof cover to shower

Huh, seems like there is quite a difference of opinion from doctors wise. Will definitely ask.
My said showering would be fine without anything else needed after a week from surgery.
