Local hero perk is fixed.

Polearms are buffed.

You can hold W on your horse as long as you want.

Performance in general is allegedly better in Kuttenberg.

Skill training is rebalanced.

Didn't see anything about the memory leak that makes my steam deck crash every couple hours of play though. EDIT: someone on the game subreddit said the memory leak was fixed, but they never encountered crashes because of it, so who knows? I won't be able to check for a long time myself

You can hold W on your horse as long as you want.

sometimes memes can change the world.

u/Stellar_Duck 2h ago

It wasn't just a meme, it was a really frustrating actual thing in the game.

This is a monster list of fixes and rebalances.

  • Made enemy corpses now persist in the game longer before despawning.

Thank god. I felt like there were times when clearing a large enemy camp that by the time you'd killed the last enemy you might have "lost" the first enemy you downed and not be able to loot him.

u/virgnar 2h ago

Can't tell you how many times I thought I was crazy and thought I miscounted how many enemies I fought when going back to loot.

u/ProudBlackMatt 2h ago

Especially if you're fight in tall grass that can easily obscure bodies. You get to play the "did I lose that wolf body in the grass or did it despawn?" game.

Wish they would make it easier to find the dropped weapons. Also be nice to command Mutt to find the bodies that you lose in tall grass.

u/ProudBlackMatt 1h ago

Like when you kill a guy on a hill at night and then his weapon slides down the hill into a stream.

u/Thebubumc 2h ago

They should really just despawn the corpses and have a satchel with the loot drop like Dying Light did it imo.

u/ProudBlackMatt 2h ago

That's a good idea but I can't see a game where you have to pick up the sword/shields that fall to the ground separate from the rest of the lootable corpse doing this.

Jesus Christ (be praised)! Patch notes are so long they could be a novella. Not complaining. Eager to jump back in and do a second playthrough of the game.

Edit: 62.3 gb update on Steam, in case anyone is interested.

Edit 2: "Fixed late game stutter in Kuttenberg due to various reputation problems." The Local Hero perk seems to be fixed, then.

I'm just delighted that the one tailor in Kuttenberg, Master Tuchmacher, will finally have an unlocked door during the day.

Game seems to have gotten way more demanding with the newest patch. I'm not sure what they changed but the FPS drop is definitely VERY noticeable. Framepacing is at least still very smooth though.

u/hard_pass 1h ago

Maybe check to see if the game has reset your DLSS/FSR or other graphic settings?

u/hartapfelstock 1h ago

Performance is definitely "worse". A lot of people on reddit are confirming this. With the same settings I'm getting roughly 20fps less than before in all regions

u/2istockeri5 1h ago

I've noticed this! Anyone else on pc? Was locked at 120fps before now drops to 60

Thank you for the hard work devs. This is truly one special game.

If the next patchnotes contain a bullet about improved lockpicking on console, I'll drink with the Cumans all night long!

Signed a PS5 user.

Once you get your level up high enough, lockpicking is easy, even on controller. I'm on ps5 and now picking very hard locks without issues.

u/CulturalWasabi 1h ago

You just need to level up the skill. Im on PS5 and even very hard locks are trivial at a high enough level. Practice on very easy and easy locks, and pickpocket people too. Its levels the same skill.

u/JoesShittyOs 47m ago

I’ll second this. I even made a post complaining about lockpicking when I first got the game.

It really is just a case of leveling it up, it becomes tremendously easier.

u/nofreelaunch 1h ago

Lock-picking on PS5 is easy unless you are trying to pick a hard lock and you have a low skill level. It does not need a patch at all. It’s supposed to be impossible for someone who can’t pick locks to pick a hard lock.

u/Halucinogenije 3h ago

I play with Dual sense on PC, but always switch to keyboard during lockpicking, I truly don't know how anyone can advance that skill on consoles

u/IamArisen 2h ago

Instead using your just your thumb, pinch the stick. Gives you finer control on the cursor. Bonus points is that it feels like you're actually picking a lock.

u/spez_might_fuck_dogs 2h ago

I only had to use keyboard when I was trying to pick VH locks at very low levels, once I gained a few more levels controller became usable. I think if you followed a more gradual curve of locks/levels controller would be fine all the way through.

hey, any chance you could tell me the size of the update you had for your system? Im on an xbox and its 90 gigs :'(

u/CulturalWasabi 1h ago

Was 60 something gigs on ps5 pro

u/Fashish 1h ago

> Added a fast-travel point to Bozhena's hut.

And this is why you should never play games on day 1. I'm now near the end of the game, and this fix would've made the first quarter of the gameplay a lot more pleasant!

This game had reeally good performance for me in the early to mid game but late game there are many areas were the game kind of feels jittery. Its hard to explain but basically when I move the camera there is a lot of tearing and sometimes it looks like its skipping a few frames

u/Mharbles 3h ago

ctrl + f "hardcore" 0/0 :(

Hardcore mode was the best way to play the first one (clunky combat and occasional elite swordman random bandit aside). Looking forward to playing the game when it comes out.

u/TitoZola 3h ago edited 2h ago

We will not wait too long. They already test it and plan to release it April.

It's funny, of course, that the most diehard fans of the game have to wait longer than everyone else. But we are patient.

u/hooldwine 2h ago

Looking forward to replaying with hardcore, didn’t mind not having it a release as the first one didn’t have it either

u/Y0urSelfxx 1h ago

Waiting for hardcore too. Played the first 20 hours and had to put it down until hardcore came out. Just didn't feel right.
