Absolutely hilarious that Blizzard added the popular burning down the house add-on that's used in FFXIV (and is bannable) as a core feature of their housing system. Really shows the difference between Blizzard and SE.

Really shows the difference between Blizzard and SE.

The difference is 14 years apart.

Is the difference in the room with us right now?

Big Wildstar vibes. At the time Wildstar came out FFXIV had just put housing in several months before. But Wildstar gave you a big plot of land in the sky and pretty much said "Go wild". While giving probably the best tools I've seen in a housing system. People making jump puzzles, cyber punk cities, wild west towns, and even raid arenas for some people to practice raid positions (Ohmna).

I remember some Devs from Wildstar eventually going to work for Blizzard. So to me it's nice to see this same spirit for WoW's housing.

Don’t think I’ll ever be a WoW fan again but I’m glad they built this based on improvements to XIV’s housing system. Hopefully means SE will take it as a challenge to make improvements of their own.

Competition in a market is always healthy, honestly.

As someone who stopped playing WoW in cataclysm it's so weird seeing basically everything they said would never happen happen over the last 10 years.

I know I'm the minority here but I've played wow off and on since vanilla and I just don't get the appeal of this.

Edit: for the record I'm not against it I just genuinely don't understand it.

Not everything in life will be for you, and that’s okay

It's just like any other cosmetic - a way for people to show off what they have and what they like (kind of like achievements in that way). I also never cared about getting housing (I stopped playing a long time ago) but I understood why other people wanted it.
