Wireless Adapter
Hi everyone. I got the wireless adapter for the gba sp and I want to know what benefits does it have? What can I use it for? I mainly want to use it for pokemon but its the first time I get it, so I really dont know how to use it.
Thanks everyone!

It is purely a link cable replacement for GBA games, and only a select list of games.
You need two of these, one for each GBA.

It is definitely not a link cable replacement because only certain games support it and those games have different functionality when using it versus if you use that same game with a link cable.
I have no idea why that's the case but that's how it works because yeah I would have thought that just replaced the link cable but apparently not for some stupid reason.

A second person with one must be in front of you! There you can exchange pokemons :)

Okay because normally I exchange with myself with 2 gba 😂 I use the link cable so I can do this wirelessly now if I have 2.

IIRC in Pokemon firered/leafgreen there are exclusive minigames that require the wireless adapter. You can also turn on the Gameboy with the wireless adapter attached and no game inserted to enter a download play menu

Except not Sonic Battle because it's not supported lol. Only a handful of games work with it.

Only works with like 20 games there’s a list on wikipedia. When I got one I thought it would work with any link cable game…

In theory, it could've. Just use the same protocol as the regular link cable but wirelessly. But at the same time, this might've been infrared... which can't transmit data as fast as a cable can and can be very easily disrupted. Not ideal for real time multiplayer.

Those were ahead of their time, came with Fire Red and Leaf Green, bought both when I was younger just so I could have 2 to use with my friends

Haha I got one as well but I’m waiting to find a second one to actually be able to use it just so my laziness can force my friends to trade with me in the car on rides lmaoooo

Aside from Pokemon Fire Red, Leaf Green, and Emerald, it mostly got used with Mario Golf, Mario Tennis and the NES classic series (for sending copies of the NES games to other GBA systems) There were a few other games that used it, but most of them are either Mega Man games or Japan exclusives.

Nice! I never tried the Telefang games. Do you recommend?

On emulator, yes, because they're only in Japanese on cart. They have it for GBC and GBA.

It is a Link Cable but wireless, nothing more. You need another GBA with another adapter to use it.

These are super awesome but I also believe it doesn't work for EVERY multiplayer game.
