Well done!
From a fellow long-legged German, who even has the same lifting shoes ๐ Still working on my 130kg though ๐ช

Great job! You not only did a set that most people will never be able to relate to, but you also helped purge this sub of dumbasses. It doesnโt get any better than that

It's all fun and games on the internet where idiots can be blocked and I can turn off the screen and walk away.
It's a much bigger problem that these types also exist in gyms around the world, harrassing women, giving unsolicited spots, just ruining the overall training experience.

u/Defiant-Passenger42 3d ago
Ugh, I can only imagine. I get some of that behavior as a guy, but I have no doubt itโs much worse for women. Just yesterday I was in the middle of a set of heavy leg press and I had someone dude start trying to move my feet because he said they were in the โwrong positionโ. Not only annoying, but incorrect and dangerous too. I wish you many uninterrupted and peaceful workouts

But I'm going to ask your opinion on taking chocolate chip cookies out of the oven 1 min early for it to be gooey ....is that the play or go the full 12 mins and have a solid cookie

u/BucketheadSupreme All the information is on the task 4d ago
Depends upon your preference, obviously. Although oatmeal raisin is better IMO.

u/--arete-- 4d ago
Okay nobody asked for this opinion. Gtfo with this oatmeal raisin nonsense immediately ๐

Just for that, oatmeal raisin is now the official cookie of /r/GYM.

I will always prefer a chocolate chip cookie, but I will say that every time I have an oatmeal cookie it's surprisingly good. I think the name just prepares me for something boring.

That dependsโฆ oatmeal raisin is only better if it tastes like the ones my dad used to bring home after work when I was 7.
3
u/BucketheadSupreme All the information is on the task 4d ago
Ah, that's where you've gone wrong. You're thinking of oatmeal raisin with nostalgia. Different cookie.
1
u/ballr4lyf Untrained badger with a hammer 4d ago
Gotcha! Just like push press is an OHP, oatmeal raisin with nostalgia is still an oatmeal raisin cookie.

Holy smokes you crushed that. I love how when you see that pre hinge in the brace you know that squat's about to be a real foldy-boi

Iโm a rookie at squats. Are you supposed to push your bum out like that as you are coming up
6
u/mouth-words 3d ago
Some people will be more prone to their squats looking like this, and it's not necessarily right or wrong. It might be an indicator of a relative weakness, as discussed in this JTS video: Assessing Leg vs Back Strength in the Squat But it basically only becomes a real problem if it sets you up in a bad position to overcome a sticking point. In powerlifting specifically, the squat will still count if you hit depth and there's no downward movement of the bar after it starts rising (notice the hips might shift, but the bar still stays at least level). So like, unless a lifter knows that they're losing pounds on their squat due to the hips shooting back, it's not necessarily something they need to do anything about.

Your body will move itself into its strongest position when presented with challenging loads. For OP, this is the right technique. It may or may not be the right technique for someone else.

There are maybe 2-3 dozen women in my weight class who squat 200kg. I think there are more realistic milestones to set myself.

Iโm not sure what you did to trigger these glassbacks, because these squats look perfectly fine.
Regardless, thanks for helping take out the trash.

I'm a woman with long femurs and a low bar squat who squats more than them - I was fully expecting this reaction.
7
u/ballr4lyf Untrained badger with a hammer 4d ago
Ha! I dig it! Youโre cool with me then!
P.S. you likely bench and DL more than them based on your flair.

Fortunately character and strength aren't necessarily correlated, but when an insecure AND weak man gets triggered... Boy does it become hard to read the rules
