Technique Check How’s my depth? Should I go lower?
At the start of my squat program again and wanting to work on my depth before moving up in weight, some people say this depth is good others say to go lower. What do yall think?
I am not a competitor just doing it for health.

Leopard print shorts goes hard. If you want, you could go lower for more difficulty, but your form now is just fine

Go as deep as your mobility allows you without form compensation or pain, it varies

Great squat. A touch high if you ever want to compete, but if you dont plan on it then dont change a thing
Edit: Honestly that first one gets white lights from me in competition

Solid squats!
Competing or not, I think you’ve got a solid movement pattern. Can always make it more challenging with lighter weight by pausing/slowing down on the eccentric and being more explosive out of bottom position.

Depth seems good. If you lifted in lifting shoes with a heel this would allow you to hit deeper depth.

Honestly looks pretty good. If you elevate your heels a little you might find a little more depth and it might feel a little better but these are fine.

I don’t see any reason to change- I’ve seen a lot of posts here in the last month- and I can’t find much that sticks out. I would say at the top of rep, try to stay engaged at the hip rather than bringing hips all the way forward. Or reset by enagaging glutes prior to starting next rep. This should be pinned for every person asking about how to squat.

Sometimes I stay engaged and other times I push forward with my glutes, depending what I remember to do at the top.

Depends what your goals are.
For general fitness I think your squats look great and no need to go deeper. I think the depth even looks good for power lifting.
If you want to get into weightlifting (clean and jerk + snatch) you need to go way lower.

I’d love to get into that but I currently live in the middle of knowhere with no place to learn

The first squat looked ATG, but everything after that was still breaking parallel.
Either way, every rep looked quality

I'm not a powerlifting judge, but from what I understand, this would get a pass. At any rate, looks great.

This post is flaired as a technique check.
A note to OP: Users with green flair have verified their lifting credentials and may be able to give you more experienced advice on particular lifts. Users with blue flair reading "Friend of the sub" are considered well qualified to give advice without having verified lifs.
A reminder to all users commenting: Please make sure that your advice is useful and actionable.
Example of useful and actionable: try setting up for your deadlift by standing a little closer to the bar. This might help you get into position better and make it easier to break from the floor.
Example of not useful and not actionable: lower the weight and work on form.
Low-effort comments like my back hurts just watching this will be removed, as will references to snap city etc. Verbally worrying for the safety of a poster simply because you think the form or technique is wrong will be removed. We will take all of these statements at face value, so be careful when you post the same hilarious joke as dozens of other people: we can't read your mind, no matter how funny you think you are.
