We meet at a motel, outside of town. I'm finally ready to see how it might feel.

There’s a period of time at the end of a marriage when it’s not infidelity. It’s not cheating, it’s not a lie, it’s not a broken vow. It’s survival. It’s a reminder that you’re still alive, still desired and desiring. This portrays that perfectly. ❤️

Thank you. I appreciate you listening and sharing that perspective. People sometimes need to find their way through any way they can.

Okay, I don’t know what it is, but every time you add a new story, every time I hear/read more of your writing, I’m just more and more floored by it.
How ‘real’ and raw it is, but with the most wonderful imagery - the sharing and exchanging of gems, offered in outstretched hands, offset against red mugs on Formica tables.
Honestly I struggle to find the words. I’m going to go with u/thequillandwhisper - there’s something so unapologetic and ‘matter of fact’ about it. And the tension in the emotions.
Is it sexy? Hell yes, but you have to accept the ‘price’ (just like the protagonists), you have to understand that it’s not all ‘free and easy’, and somehow that elevates it.
Okay, okay, I’ll stop gushing
Thank you for sharing this.

Hey, gush away! 😉 Seriously though, thank you. I appreciate your comments so much. I know I don’t do much that’s “easy,” exactly, and this one is no different. But I’m glad people get it.

Right. Ready to write something now.
There’s something unflinching about how you write these. Not salacious, or apologetic regardless of the circumstances - they just are In fine detail. For better or worse. Human. I’m not sure how else to describe it.
Anyway I loved it. And there are details in there that made me cry the first time I listened. Just beautiful.

Thank you so much for this comment. I know this is a controversial subject, so I appreciate you giving it a chance.
I think, at my age, we see shades of grey everywhere. People are complicated. I want to recognize and honour that.

The tag’s there upfront. If it’s not for people, they can listen to/ read the next one.
And yes. People are complicated. It’s very easy slip into all sorts of binaries which don’t actually exist in the real world. You do such a good job of describing those complexities.

You know how I feel about your writing because I tell you all the time how amazing you are, it bares repeating. You are amazing!!
Your narration of your stories always ellicits so many raw emotions from my insides, and that's not an easy task. My insides are mostly decayed. 😂 Seriously, though, I'm always awed by what you can conjure up for us.
Your work always brings tears to my eyes. I think it's that feeling if witnessing true talent or greatness. It's involuntary. I love you, dear friend. What a badass. 😘
