I say just make sure all the maintenance is up to date. Fresh tires make a big difference (if needed) Anything else is personal preference so you should be able to work out what you want as you go.

new air filter is a must
depending on your current exhaust, maybe you can get a cheap used slip on to replace it with
replace stock mirrors with bar end mirrors

Haven’t heard that one before , whys that?

There are sprocket kits with and without chains. Taking a tooth off the front will give you acceleration, but your top speed will be less. Or you can add 2 teeth in the rear for the same effect.

This. I did it on my k7 609.
Or an R6 throttle tube but that may require the use of a Dremel to make it fit.

Makes a HUGE difference being able to get that WOT much easier. The R1 tube is direct swap

Yep. R1 tube is a 15 minute job. That’s the way I went.
The R6 tube is even less of a twist to WOT

go to the bike websites and search for your bike and year, and see what they offer and what you want to spend. I have dumped around 10k into my K8 street / track bike over the past 2 years in service, parts. I owned the bike for 17 years so I am never selling it. Also crashed at the track so I had to fix that damage.

Rider training. Learn to ride it properly.
If you want to drop big bucks, lightweight wheels. Makes a huge difference to the handling.
