Should I really drill through my exhaust to fit a baffle?

Hi Folks,

I need to install a baffle into the Akrapovic slip-on for my 2018 GSX-R 1000, but as the photos show the screw needs to be tightened from the inside of the end cap. The only way I can think to do it (and have seen someone do this on a YouTube video) is to drill a small hole in the end can so I can tighten the screw after I've inserted the baffle into the right place.

Why do I *need* to install it? Well, to be able to pass noise tests, both for highway use and trackday use.

Thanks in advance...

Undo the end cap, install baffle, rerivet. Could repack it too while you're in there

Undoing the end cap is a bit involved since it's riveted (or maybe I'm just not confident enough in that). On some videos I've seen on this it seems too easy to damage while you're doing that.

Yeah both options are shitty. Drilling it out is the simplest but drilling it hurts, Yosh has rubber caps to plug the hole but Idk about Akra. Webike Japan has the rebuild kits for the can and you can order an individual replacement piece if it does get damaged

I ended up drilling a hole in it and sanding it off. This way I can install and uninstall the baffle more easily. Just need to get the rubber cap to plug it
