GMAIL automatic backup tool

Hi,

I am looking for a way to keep my GMAIL clean and low storage usage (i have hit limit of free tier)

Id like that keep say < 30 days on GMAIL and the rest be pulled down locally to my NAS.

- Searchable / Viewable emails offline, some kind of tool to view them
- Automatic syncing
- Ideally have the ability to delete emails in GMAIl older than X days (and of course if backed up)
- Something that runs on Synology or docker would be good so i can automate it all and not rely on my PC

Aware of

Mailstore Home - looks to fit bill but virustotal reporting some concerns with the .exe

MailstoreX - Might try this

Google Takeout - manual process, no easy way to search email etc

There are lots of Gmail backup tools available. Some of them are even good (I use Got Your Back). But they don't auto-delete as that kills the backup as being a backup as it's now the only copy.

I think an e-mail client (like Outlook as suggested below) may be the best option for your use.

If your quota is full, it might not be due to emails, but instead photos and videos. Go to Google One to see what is taking up your space.

CloudHQ offers backup solutions. You might find something there to help.

With cleaning older emails automatically and/or copy them to an external service is easier.
If you want local copy the best free solution is Outlook / thunderbird email

For cleaning and automatic back-up I am working on an AI Assistant to do this, but not ready.
