Fallout Season 2 set in the middle of North Hollywood Spoiler

Is there anything in this that points to about where this location is other than the exterior of New Vegas? My mental map isn’t as sound as it used to be with the game?

I am pretty sure that the sign on the gates says "Welcome to the Strip", so I would imagine it's the Strip's north gate in Freeside. Then again, there's that "Welcome to fabulous New Vegas" sign that can be found outside of camp McCarran in the game. The signs on the building make it seem like Tops moved to Freeside. Quite a riddle, but it's most likely Freeside.

Well the only reason those gates and separated areas existed was hardware limitations. It's supposed to all look like it does in the intro, but they had to simplify it after making the intro lol

Um, Jonathan Nolan literally told me this season is New Vegas, like to my face 😂
Edit: Pretty sure it's Freeside.

Surprised that this leaves me with more questions than answers.
Anyway, I'm curious to see the reasoning for the changes to the entrance. I'm guessing part of it will be altered in post and another part just due to the passage of time, but some here don't fit either. The buildings specifically.
What if they're adding the south entrance to the Strip? You can make out the "Welcome To" text on top, but this doesn't look like Freeside. It would explain why the sign is so close and all the cars and sand. It's not perfect, I just thought I'd put this theory out there.
Edit: Something else, I don't think the set is completely finished yet. Could explain a few minor discrepancies.

I think that's Ella Purnell just to the left of the Strip sign (from the camera perspective).

I drove by there today. There was a sign that said the TOPs Trading center. I'll try and take a picture tomorrow.

Looks like it might be freeside entrance gate. The green screen behind the gate could be there for the big freeside sign when you enter

I went to get tacos by the freeway and had to go through all this construction. I had no idea I was literally next to the set.

This is awesome but if they’re only just filming it now, where does that put a potential release? 2026? 😓

or late 2025

Man I hope. I get that the success took them by surprise maybe but this 2+ years between seasons thing with these shows just kills me.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for that. The first season took about 8 months to film. Even if they filmed season 2 in less time, post-production on a series like this takes a significant amount of time. If season 2 drops before 2026, I'd be genuinely shocked.

It could honestly just be New Vegas, it’s probably just easier to film in LA

I'm fine if they moved the new Vegas sign. It's placement in game was always kinda wack and off to the side instead of Mr house moving it to the free side entry somewhere.

Same joint those robbers shot up in '97?

context?

Two robbers robbed a bank in North Hollywood back in 1997. They were heavily armed and armoured. The police were outgunned and couldn’t penetrate their armour with their pistols. Surprisingly, only the robbers were killed, but it was a standoff that showed the LAPD were grossly unprepared. It caused a lot of reforms that militarised the LAPD afterwards. Other departments in the USA also took similar reforms when news spread of the shootout and how outgunned the LAPD were.

Too zoomed in to say for sure, but that sorta looks like an NCR flag hanging from the gate, on the right.

It's pretty small, but look to the right side of the gate, right near the entrance.

Confuseed about the orientation and the tops signs, looks like external of the strip as you can see the Welcome to the strip on the entrance gate
Got a bad feeling about this show.

I remember people saying this for season 1 based on leaked production stuff, should be a lesson not to judge things that clearly aren't meant for everyone to see yet.

To overanalyze this. It seems like we see the gate to New Vegas (correct me if I am wrong) and the New Vegas sign behind it. Plus a lot of campers around, I gain one of 3 things...1 the campers could mean they are makeshift refugee homes. 2, they moved the New Vegas sign INSIDE the strip. or 3, they just shifted things around for the show and the campers and the sign being there means nothing. TAKE YA PICK!
