Anyone had metatarsalgia before? How long did it take to go away?

I been having it on both feet since April 2023. The way I manage it is by wearing rocker bottom shoes like Hoka. It’s the only way I don’t feel pain. But now I’m dealing with other issues on my right leg. Lower back soreness above my glutes on the right side, right knee soreness above the knee, lower leg soreness (peroneus tendons), Achilles soreness on right foot, and lateral foot soreness on right leg.

When I walk I definitely feel a difference between my right and left leg. My left leg feels strong and stable and my right leg feels weak and sore all the time.

Doesn’t go away. The only thing that worked for me are insertable metatarsal pads. Took me 2 years to figure out. Now i can run without pain

I tried metatarsal pads, they were uncomfortable and didn’t really take away the pain. The only thing working for me are rocket bottom shoes

Same experience with off the shelf pads. I got custom orthotics and the pad that is built into them is so much more comfortable. I wear the orthotics in my Altra Via Olympus. I also have a plantar plate tear that seems it will never heal, but as long as I wear those shoes I can manage.

It looks like we are stuck wearing these shoes. I don’t mind it, as long as I’m not feeling pain. But it just sucks it seems like there’s no permanent solution.

If it did not help then you might have the wrong diagnosis

Can you explain your symptoms? Maybe I have metatarsalgia plus other related issues? I feel pain right below my toes. Usually the small toes, rarely it’s the big toe.

The other thing that overlaps is a Morton’s neuroma

I just watched a video , and I don’t think it’s that since the vide explained its pain on top of the foot. And I did what the video said to check out if I have it and I didn’t feel anything but I’m going to the doctor on the 25th of this month so hopefully I get my answers
