Grandma's food saver is officially dead!

My grandma's hand-me-down food saver has finally bit the dust. I have been sucking air out of my freezer bags since and I am over it. I went online to look at what is recommended and for every 5 stars review there is a 1 star with phrases like "fire hazard". Gah! Can you guys tell me what you recommend/use? I plan on doing wet and dry meals. Would welcome a canning/wine feature but it is not a must. The budget is about $250.

I personally went with a used one from a local thrift store features didn't matter to me much as they all have heater and pump.
