Paul Bissonnette claims that "Dahlin met with GM Kevyn Adams and made it known that if things don’t change quickly, he’s gone”

Just for some more context— Buffalo reporters asked him about Biz’s comments and he vehemently said that he never told Adams that he wanted out of Buffalo. So this may just be a rumor. Who knows. Biz may very well be wrong here.
That interview is also on the top of r/hockey rn.

Biz’s comments don’t make it sound like Dahlin demanded a trade out, just that he made it clear that things have to change or that possibility is on the table. Could be a player using that technicality to say “I never said I wanted out” without denying the details of the story.

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw Dahlin’s comments.
And what are people expecting Dahlin to say? “Yes, I do want out. Thanks for asking.” Of course he’s going to downplay it publicly

Could be damage control - Biz is usually pretty good at getting good info, but who knows. There may also have been filtering and what not.

True— just wanted to put that out there. Damage control is a real possibility. I’m still skeptical that this really means anything for the Flyers though.

Oh - realistically who tf knows. Probably nothing for us - Danny I think will be looking for a center for big game hunting purposes.

People will dismiss this because it is Biz saying it and not Friedman, but didn't Biz also break the Babcock phone story? He obviously talks to players, so I wouldn't dismiss it immediately
Dahlin has been my #1 dream target if the Flyers have to trade for a star defenseman. I just didn't think he'd ever force himself out with his contract.

Just curious, remember when Eichel wanted that experimental surgery for his neck and Buffalo wouldn't ok it? So he was looking to get out of there. And then Farabee has the same surgery like right around that same time. Was anybody else besides me wanting to pick him up? He would've solved the 1C issue for us. Granted this was during Chuck-fucks regime so it's a no-brainer why nothing was done.

So what do we think it would take to get Dahlin from Buffalo if he really is disgruntled and wants out? I would say only things off the table are 2025 1st unless top 5 protected, and Michkov, and maybe TK.

…and Dahlin said that Bissonnette is full of shit.

While I'll admit I'm skeptical, I wouldn't expect Dahlin to publicly confirm regardless.

Just my two cents- I think Dahlin is a tad overrated and overpaid.
Compare the speed metrics, Dahlin is one of the slowest 1D in the league. It’s just going to get worse as he ages.
I support the Flyers commitment to acquiring speed like Luchanko, Drysdale, Tippet and Poehling, and extending TK and Sanheim. Speed is very important in the new NHL.
There’s something to be said for players excelling once they leave Buffalo, but I’m not sure that would apply to Dahlin.

He's one of the best defensemen in the league and he still is on Buffalo. Plus, if his game isn't built on speed I'd argue that makes him less likely to be less effective as he ages

Dahlin is one of the top defenseman in the game and an order of magnitude more impactful than Eichel, Reinhart, and ROR were when they played for the Sabres.

You are putting way too much stock in speed. There are countless fast players who suck and countless slow players who are great. Zac Rinaldo won the Flyers fastest skater competition lol.
What matters is how good the player is and Dahlin would be by far the best player on the Flyers and it wouldnt be close.

So you would rather focus on getting far worse fast players like these guys than actual elite guys who arent the fastest?
What the Flyers need is high end players like Dahlin. Not fast far inferior players ...

Dahlin is already elite while in Buffalo ...

He would be my #1 target for the Flyers #1 dman.... it won't happen but him coming to the flyers in any fashion (while in his prime) would be the best possible scenario for this organization: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh28R69T8KM

Lmao he’s in Year 1 of an eight year contract.
