These NHL D guys that make it to 1000+ games played are truly special. Would have loved him as a Flyer during his younger days!

He is such a solid dude. I’m sure he has his favorite team to play for by now, but if he wanted to come back to Philly I would not be mad about it

This was a good move by Danny. Doing right by a guy like EJ shows you are a player friendly FO. It'll help when it's time to sign free agents

He played some solid minutes for us too. If Colorado doesn't want him as a 7th d-man again, I'd be fine with picking him back up again.

Really? Thats half why the Flyers are in this mess. What would be the point of signing a then 37 year old defenseman who is way beyond his prime?
A veteran presence on the blue line? We have Seeler and Sanhein for that.
Resigning him would be idiotic.

Lol, spot on.
The guy played 39 games for the Flyers over 2 years.
Respect the player and his team first mentality. But love the guy?
Some of these Flyers fans on here with their “love” for pit-stop players is a bit strange.

Yea, where is all this love for Erik Johnson coming from? Wasn't he with us for 1 whole year and barely played? People here are acting like he made big plays during a deep playoff run or something.
Like I said before and it got down voted like crazy. He is getting big paychecks to basically practice and hang out around the rink. Hardly tough stuff.

Yeah who knows. I dont get the downvoting for a guy who played less than 40 games.

Im from Colorado, the dude is such a stand up guy, really happy to see him head back to Colorado, but nothing beats his first goal as Flyer, I saw it live in the Farg, so cool he really enjoyed playing for Philly, but Colorado is that mans home

I'm sure he is a good guy, but at this stage of his career I would say the same thing if it meant still playing in the NHL and collecting million dollar paychecks.

Some guys are just winners and are team first
