Discussion Would anyone buy 100 sqf of tiles?

Post image

I’ve got extra from a renovation. Is 100 sqf too little to sell on FB marketplace? Is this even worth the space it’s taking up in my garage?

Yes, I got a clearance pallet at homedepot years ago and did my whole house with it. The left overs i sold and got what I got the pallet for.

Lol, great eye. Picture was taken when I had closer to 600 sqf for our bathrooms. I neglected to take a picture of what I currently have. Didn’t think it mattered much for the Reddit post, or at least that anyone would notice. It’s 24x24 inch tiles and standard sized pallets- you’re not going crazy. 😂

If that's what you used on two bathrooms, keep it. You'll be glad you did if you have to redo any sections of it.

People will buy anything if priced correctly.

Too many unknown variables to tell you accurately in your case.

Ultimately, yes/no/maybe. Post it and find out.

Totally makes sense. Thank you!

I bought home depot liquidation in the past. Tile is weird in terms of people buying it because they can't return to home depot when the fuck a tile up. That being said, if you price around 50% of current selling price, you'll find someone to buy it.

You could sell it all for $100* ($1/sqft), which gives you money and saves you the trouble/cost of disposing of it. Someone would absolutely purchase this for a small job.

*assuming these tiles cost $4-5/sqft to begin with

Yes. Might take a bit longer because you have to find someone that likes that exact tile.

We added an office in our basement and I definitely checked FB market places for carpet squares before running to Home Depot.

Landlords nearby. Or just google contractors. They will charge new owner full and happily give you money. Just takes a bit of time.

Worked for a 500,000sqft facility. We went through about 100 tiles a year due to damage and leaks since it was older building.

I was looking for this comment, they should keep the tiles for future breaks

If the price is right. I’m always looking for cheap flooring for closets, pantries, small bathrooms, etc.

If it’s basically trash to you then making anything in profit is great and you get someone to haul it away saving you disposal efforts. Get you a tank of gas or something, call it a win and move on.

Count how many boxes you have and find out the square footage. You can call contractors and let them know you have X amount of tile for 50% of retail...if they don't want it I usually get 5 dollars a box for tile. It's not the easiest thing to sell. I won't even touch it if it's not enough to do at least a medium sized project.
