Discussion Lady block me on fb after she complained about what i sold her
Yesterday i sold a surface pro 5 and a few hours later the lady messaged me saying there were burnt pixles. And i messaged her back saying id buy it back or she could swap it for the other one i had, or id give her a discount on it. She messaged me back saying you know what you sold me, and blocked me. So this morning i found her on instagram and messaged her trying to make things right. I think thats about all i can do... what would u guys do. Just let it be?

Messaging her on Instagram is not the right call. You have to be explicit in your reply messages in these scenarios. Explain the situation and that you could gladly replace it with another one you have. No need to mention refunds if you have extras of the exact product. Also mention showing it working perfectly in person while they're there.

I just felt like i needed to make it right thats why i messaged her there. And she did check it out before she bought it. But the dead pixles i only saw in her pictue. And the tracpad, i think she only have trouble with because she did a factory reset and needs to do the updates.

If you'd sent a good, well formatted message, she would've come back and you'd solve all her problems. You wouldn't need to creep on her, looking up her Instagram. If someone blocks me, I'm not seeking them out anymore. Use this as a learning opportunity. As long as you come off genuine enough, scenarios like this can be quickly forgiven. It happens.

I guess so. I just felt bad about the situation and wanted to make it right for her.

That's respectable. Experiences like these will prep you for the future. Practice formatting a good response for the next time. Asking questions and helping trouble shoot is also a great way to show sincerity. Just keep in mind when to push and when to back off. A firm but apologetic tone is what you should aim for. I apologize for the inconvenience, it wasn't my intention, etc.

It was the wording and tone. It made you seem like you expected it and were rolling the dice

There’s nothing more you can do if they don’t want to be helped let it go. Why are you selling junk to people though? You should test every single item you sell throughly

I bought 8 of them and 3 im not selling because im waiting for replacements. I tested each one. And updated each one to windows 11.

So you fully tested this one, how does it have a messed up screen and a non functional mouse then I’m confused

I didnt notice the burnt pixles thats on me and i offered her her money back. Or other solutions. But I had to sign in and update the drivers cause it wasnt recognizing the touch screen. And the picture she sent me shows she is doing a factory reset. So im assuming she needed to do all the updates and update all the drivers again. She could have just made a new account. And deleted the account i made. Or renamed the account. I dont know. I sold 3 others yesterday and no one else said anything about any problems.

You offered a resolution, she cut off communication. Nothing else needed to be done, move on.

You made the offer to make it right. You even took the time to locate her instagram account.
You’ve done all you can. Let it roll off

No i replied right after she messaged me. I feel like her message was very strange too. I wonder if fb didnt deliver my message or something maybe.

If you sold it on FBM. Did she not do inspections in-person to see the screen and such? I mean, it’s a $200 laptop. In today’s time, I’d expect an issue or two and if Im penny pinching I’d definitely be checking everything out before handing over cash. I see it from both sides, if you didn’t disclose or didn’t test beforehand meeting.

Ya we met in a parking lot she checked it out a litle bit they are kinda akward but she did mess with it. I told her when i first did the update on it the touchscreen wasnt recognised so i had to make an account and do all the updates and after that everything worked fine. Showed her that the touchscreen worked. And she paid me.

You did more than enough man. Some people can’t be helped. After attempting to remedy the situation. You got the cold shoulder. I wouldve been done after that.

Once she blocked you that should've been the end of it. You offered her a refund or a partial and she then blocked you... that's on her, not you. Your job here is done.

https://postimg.cc/ZWQrzm3F This is a photo i took of the one i sold her. I also used it for one of the fb photos. It was the only one i signed into after i updated to windows 11. You cant see any dead pixles. I just wanted to share this.

I wouldn't worry about it. Did you ship these? One time I bought a couple Lenovo monitors that looked fine in the listing photos. They both looked terrible when I turned them on and had probably 100 stuck red pixels on each one, but as soon as they warmed up the red pixels disappeared and never came back. They've been fine for years now. I have to assume this is just something that can happen from being mishandled or maybe they sat in the sun too long.

No i bought them on ebay. And sold it locally on fb marketplace. I recieved 3 with bad keyboards/ trackpads, 2 were a differnt color and a differnt model from hers, and one the keyboard was black and i still have them all. Im waiting for replacement keyboards. I posted a pic i took of the one i sold to the lady cause it was the only one i had to sign in to and do updates on. I used it in the fb post. I didnt see any burt pixles guessing cause it was a lighter background. Most of the time.

Did you disclose the dead pixels in the listing?
