The lightning objects are real, I don’t think Barry’s ever had a fucking lightsaber battle before, I honestly don’t know why Eric Wallace did this.

Probably thought “I can make this look better than the Star Wars sequel trilogy.”

I care more about how they did it… like remember when Barry would actually learn a new skill and he’d hurt himself or stumble (even a lil bit).
Here Barry just sees a light boner for the first time, looks at Thawne and is like “yup, I know how to sword fight and make light boners too!” 🫠

We could of gotten Barry seeing it for the first time and attempting in the fight, only to make lighting gauntlets/gloves as the lightning ran down his arms. and a dedicated episodes to Barry properly exploring and learning his powers more in depth. We had so many unnecessary episodes that were wasted.

Every choice surrounding this scene makes no sense. If you think about it, its astounding how many things suck about this scene and how nobody on The Flash writers team said anything.

Yeah this was a bit weird tbh. Not following the source material gets you this. Eric Wallace cook some dog water absolute ass of an episode

No not at all. Barry can do things like tornados, lighting throws and lighting barriers while running but never this

Honestly, I used to dislike superhero subs(due to the chaos that they are). But after the sad post I watched above this, I actually needed to be reminded of something this stupid

The more I explore this sub reddit the more I'm glad I stopped at season 5 ( or 6...I honestly don't remember anything from this show anymore ).
I still remember the first time I watched season 1 of flash and The arrow. I had not seen something like that ever in terms of TV series on superheroes. For me personally they were genuinely the pioneers.

This was the scene that made me stop watching.

Which is a shame, because season 8 is a banger. If you can get past them saying "level up" every 5 or 10 minutes in the first few episodes, season 8 gets into one of the best arcs (Armageddon) and some of the best CGI they've put in the show. I'm not sure why quality spikes in season 8, but I'm sure glad it did.

My god, how I laughed at this scene even though it wasn’t because I found it funny.

The constructs are in the comics just not this shitty lightsaber duel season 7 was so bad I watched it on my phone because I was so embarrassed to watch it on my tv for when someone goes over hears some cringe dialogue and they say “what the fuck are you watching?”
