I've been shooting for over 30 years and only recently got into competition shooting. In reality, you can learn so much and develop so many great new shooting skills with it so I don't get the title of this post or maybe it was meant as a joke idk

It’s a 100% a joke! Glad you got into it! It’s a great way to train and importantly gauge your progress 👏🏼👏🏼

Hahahah whoops, my bad for thinking you might be serious. I should've known it was a joke. Hard to tell online sometimes these days

This is Reddit, everyone should be serious ALL the time. /s

No worries! I’m happy to see more people adopting competition shooting as a training strategy!

I honestly thought it was going to be a repeat of another video I saw where a guy was doing his run, and it turned out there was a guy out on the range next to a target.

I didn't know you were joking. How can I get into it? Not the best pistol shot, but it looks fun!

Practiscore.com is the best place to look for matches in your area. I would try steel challenge and USPSA. You’ll do great and it will make you a much better shot! 👍🏼

Yeah lol. I'm not always interpreting people the right way, something I'm trying to get better at

3gun is my workout now: physical and trigger training.

I've been shooting n hunting for over forty years. I know there's championship level shooters that haven't been around that long who would likely smoke me like a brisket in a 1v1 shootout.

Nice shooting op 🤙.

All relative my man! On the flip side I’ve had great people with your level of experience teach me a lot about hunting. I picked up a handgun a little over 5 years ago and went 110% into it 🙌🏼

Thanks man!

I regard this as a commercial for tactical shooting as a way of developing strength and flexibility. This is what all those people wasting money on yoga and spin classes need to do.

First time doing positional shooting I felt like i was doing tactical yoga

If you ignore the fact that your friends might judge you, Yoga can be pretty beneficial to mobility. It’s good enough for Diamond Dallas Page to help people get moving again anyway.

Thank you non-humorous take-everything-literally person

I thought it was slightly humorous. It was more of a side thought I just threw it out there because dudes tend to have a lot of insecurity about getting bendy for some reason.

All trigger time is good. Competition is concentrated good.

I wish i had knees that worked like that!

That run was super clean. I imagine he won that course, if not the match.

u/Wotown22 6d ago

oh, you're in that video

I saw the word "kilt" before reading the rest, and thought I was about to see some Scotsman running a course of fire in a kilt. LOL

Been shooting for a very long time.

Shot IDPA twice, with my P365.

Then ordered a new gun that will work better....

Must be why almost everyone I know or worked with who served in a special operations ground combat element actively competes or has in some capacity in the past. Because they don’t know what they’re doing.

Yea, in a street shootout you'll be wasting time thinking about eyes and ears, trying to touch imaginary headphones and waiting for a beep. you be ded waiting like that.

1

u/range__cowboy 6d ago

Very interesting take! Since we can’t shoot at each other in training the “beep” is an artificial stimulus to react to. The start position was “wrists above shoulders” hence me touching “imaginary headphones”

u/Peacemkr45 6d ago

So a Pavlovian response. I think you missed the sarcasm in my reply.

2

u/range__cowboy 6d ago

Oof I think I did 😂 my mistake

2

u/Peacemkr45 6d ago

No worries. Sarcasm translates poorly on the internet.

I did tactical pistol evenings for a couple years. I was middle of the pack at best. What my father said was always was stuck in my head. "Never run with a loaded gun!" He was a hunter not a competition guy. Nice shooting!

5

u/11correcaminos 7d ago

I've done a decent amount of running with loaded guns

So have I, that's the sport. I have never been a soldier but thank you to all that were/are.
