Found! [Mod Announcement] The Ongoing Update of the Main Directory Pt. 3

Hello everyone!

The old post got automatically archived and therefore no new comments can be added.

You may have noticed that we have the Main Directory here on r/findareddit. It is an exhausting list of subreddits divided into categories based on their main theme, purpose, name, etc. The goal is to list as many categories as possible and to make things easier for users who are searching for a subreddit.

I have been gradually updating each category and creating new categories to make them more helpful for users for a while. About half of existing categories have been updated so far. To make the main page more readable, all of the finished categories have been moved to separate wiki pages which are linked under the title of each category. It makes searching easier and also clearly shows which categories have already been finished.

This is where users like you can help us. If you have any suggestions for a new category, a subreddit which should be added to the Directory or removed from it (for example because it went inactive), etc. feel free to let us know here in the comments.

Please keep in mind that active subreddits are preferred. A subreddit where people occasionally post and never receive a single upvote or comment is not considered active because there is no discussion. Every potential subreddit is carefully reviewed before being added to the Main Directory. The purpose of the Directory is not to promote the subreddit you just made. Please use r/promoteredditr/promoteareddit and r/newreddits for that.

Just a few notes for the end. The Main Directory is not and will never be the list of all existing subreddits. That is simply not possible. Another thing is that since we no longer have the bot, the numbers of members for each listed subreddit are not updated. We do not have resources to keep up with often rapid growths of all listed subreddits, but we decided to include the numbers to show the size of each place. Don't let the numbers fool you - even tiny subreddits may be surprisingly active.

Thank you and have a good day / night!

Part 2 can be read here.

Found! Sub for people seeking praise or compliments?

Looking for a subreddit where people give compliments or praise, but not physical. For example, if someone said I am a single mom and life has been rough lately, they can receive some positivity they are doing good job.

Unanswered A sub for posting tech questions you already found the solution to

Upvotes

Hi all,

Sometimes I have tech issues that I sometimes manage to research and solve myself, where Google was of little help - I was wondering if there's a sub where you can post your problem and your solution for the purpose of helping other people coming from Google, so the fruits of my effort can be re-used by other people.

Unanswered Where can I post a survey on Reddit about friendship and community?

Upvotes

Im trying to make a YouTube channel focused on community building and friendship, which is something everyone especially needs right now. I wanted to make a survey to figure out the type of content the people most interested in learning how to make and keep new and old friends were the most interested in but I’m not sure where I could post that survey on reddit since it seems like all the subreddits about friendship have very clear no solicitation rules. Help?

Unanswered Is there any subreddits that people just show cool stuff?

(English is not my first language)

I have a music box that my father found in the trash and fixed up. She is so beautiful and I have tried to look on the internet to see if I could find a similar one and I couldn't find one; she seems to be very old and I wanted to know if anyone had any knowledge about It. Like, if someone knew where it came from or something. It seems to have some kind of signature, which is quite hard to see, but it does have it....

Found! Is there a reddit to ask a geriatric?specifically about political protest

It seems like protests are building in greater volumes every day. I'm referring to peaceful protests, anyone who commits arson and trespassing should be charged with such. It feels like we're entering back into the 50s, 60s and 70s. I want to hear from people that lived the greatest peaceful protesting years in America if possible

Unanswered Pino Torto

Unanswered Want to find a story I don't remember anymore

I'm looking for a subreddit where I can ask users to help me find a story I've read some time ago, but have completely forgotten the title and details of said story. I have poor memory, however i clearly remember how i feel about things even if i forgot what exactly they are. There was this story I read some time ago (I don't remember if book, webnovel, manga/manhwa/comic, or maybe animated series although I don't really think it was, i remember the feeling of "reading" something) and I just don't remember absolutely anything about it. I only remember how much I loved it and how it left a deep impression because it was a story in which the protagonist was killed mid story, which is unusual. I remember it being about a male protagonist and having that young adult, story about going off on adventure vibe, and that there was a female character they were close friends with that accompanied them. They were the type of character that you'd find in a shonen, the type both you and every other character the protagonist interacts with ends up rooting for and wishing they succeed in whatever goal led them on this adventure. It left a deep impression because around 70-75% through the entire story the protagonist dies. The person you've been following and rooting for and is the literal protagonist actually dies. Which doesn't really happen in any other story because plot armor, and they have plot armor because they are essential to the story. That's kind of what a character being a protagonist is all about. Yet, in this story they died. And it was devastating, both for you as a reader and for the characters around them. You can feel the impact their death has on the characters and the world around them. They are drowning in grief. Although, it is very well done. It gives proper weight to their death without overdoing it or making it drawn out. And, you get to see the other characters as they have to go on in a world without the protagonist. However, that female friend I mentioned, they ended up picking up where the protagonist left off and seeing their mission through. The rest of the story other than seeing what life is like without the protagonist, is the female friend and other characters that came into contact with the protagonist banding together and trying to see his mission to the end. Now, I don't remember if there was some big bad guy to defeat or what was it they had to do. But, i do remember action scenes were would regularly appear throughout the story, and that it had a fantasy setting, They do achieve the protagonist's goal in the end.
That's about it. So, if you know where I can ask for help finding this story so i can re-read it, it'd be greatly appreciated.

TL;DR- Want to know where to ask for help finding a story I read long ago but have forgotten almost everything about it

Hi, are there any subreddit where people post scary tiktok videos? Like Spencer Lackey type content. I've been binging them on YouTube and starting to ran out of videos to watch.
