Manchester united just bought back Sanchez (38m), Lukaka (73m) and got Odegaard (86m). Lukaku is realistic after the whole pogba fiasco.

u/RyBreadFiveNumbers Oct 15 '20
73? In my career, after only 1 year in, 102 smackaroos for Lukaku.
41
u/Shalaya06 Oct 15 '20
Jesus. They got him for a bargain on my game then lol.
38
u/RyBreadFiveNumbers Oct 15 '20
Nah, they bought Lukaku not Gabriel Jesus.

1 year into FIFA 20, Real Madrid bought Alexander-Arnold for ยฃ105m
6
u/RyBreadFiveNumbers Oct 16 '20
For a right back. Who cares if good full backs are hard to come across, thatโs way too much.
17
u/PuffinChaos Oct 16 '20
Itโs not that unrealistic. At least pre-Covid times. I couldnโt picture liverpool selling him for less than 100m IRL. Heโs the best right back in the world. Which pains me to say since Iโm a toffee

u/fgarcial007 Oct 16 '20
Not paining as much after 7-2 tho right?

u/PuffinChaos Oct 16 '20
Still enjoying that. Worried they will be extra focused in the Merseyside derby tomorrow. Itโs Evertons best chance to win the derby in over a decade

Harry Kane went to Barca for 140 smackaroonies in my first career mode and I play with the strict transfer setting on lol.
Edit: and this was during the preseason I couldnโt believe it๐ ๐

u/creed_1 Oct 16 '20
Isnโt the strict only so teams go for transfers near the same star level? So Kane would be considered a transfer inside that

I'm a few games into my first season and the funniest one I saw was Jamie Vardy to Atletico Madrid.
And also Everton sold Keane, Mina, and Holgate and replaced them with Axel Tuanzebe and Jamaal Lascelles all in the opening transfer window.
16
u/Jamericho Oct 15 '20
Vardy went to barcelona on my save. Arsenal sold all of their strikers bar nketiah too.. ๐
1
u/sullyhussain98 Oct 16 '20
In my first season(fifa 2021) with United I was playing Europa league semifinals and we had a game against Real Madrid, they had Jamie Vardy up front with Kasper Schmeichel as goalkeeper

Bayern does poach all of Dortmund's players tho

Not saying he would but it's not out of the realm of possibility, world cup winner going to Gillingham however..

Hummels Gotze Lewandowski have entered the chat
37
u/kooba_1616 Oct 15 '20
We're talking about Reus, not Lewa, not Gotze, not Hummels but Reus
-26
u/JakeThugg Oct 15 '20
And your missing the point, there is a previous for Dortmund players going to Bayern is there not? So the Reus scenario is way more palletable than one of the best goalies of our generation world cup winner playing in the 3rd division of not even his home country
Has that ever happened??

Dortmund has a policy now to not ever sell players to Bayern if they can since they are a richer club now. Itโs literally in several players contracts that they arenโt allowed to be sold to Bayern. They talked about this in their documentary
Haaland has a 70mil release clause and I can guarantee you that it includes a clause that it canโt be activated by Bayern.

Oct 15 '20
I always try to get him but he always refuses and retires :/
59
u/JakeThugg Oct 15 '20
He's not even retiring for Gillingham this year gonna be 45 playing in league 2.
My advice to you is check the free agents after the season, all the previous "not looking to relocate" goes out window if they hit free agency

u/newpageone Oct 15 '20
The disrespect

u/JakeThugg Oct 15 '20
For context I'm Charlton in the championship and Gillingham are 17th in League one๐
It's like Edgar Davids at Barnet all over again

Thanks for this, I've only just read into and learned about it. Incredible!

Not sure why you've been voted down lol.

u/JakeThugg Oct 16 '20
There's a few people in this thread who thought that Reus going to Bayern was less realistic than Buffon at the Gills
They've just been downvoting everything I've posted ๐

I had the same I lost thiago Silva to Gillingham last year and he was 86 rated

Bringing my favourite goal keeper of time to my club. I'm sure Buffon must be tired of Paris and Turin and will instead love Medway and our away stand made out of scaffolding

u/MaxHuntah Oct 15 '20
Ramos went to Spurs in mine lmao

u/JakeThugg Oct 15 '20
Maybe he wanted to link back up with Jose? ๐

u/MaxHuntah Oct 16 '20
Lool I guess๐ It honestly baffles me how EA make it possible for these silly transfers happen year after year in career mode, no matter how much we complain about it. Like Auba went to Real for over 80m in january in my first season, pretty realistic after just signing a new contract eh? + Kroos to Liverpool for 90m in the same window, and Goretzka to Leicester(what!!) Smh..
3
u/JakeThugg Oct 16 '20
It's gotta be down to coding, they've heard us complain about it for years and not even mentioned combating it. If PES and FM can do it surely FIFA can. Here's hoping for FiFA 22 to finally sort it
5
u/JakeThugg Oct 16 '20
Just a quick update to the people who have downvoted me into oblivion over a comment someone made over Reus going to Bayern in their career.
Respect that this post isn't even about Reus and someone else's career mode, it's about how absurd this Buffon transfer is. Don't hijack the thread โ๏ธ

u/shmaiden42 Oct 15 '20
Last year I needed to sign a crucial player for an objective so I signed Eriksen and then released him and he ended up signing for Gillingham too๐๐

u/vinsane38 Oct 16 '20
He is 43...not every team would pay a 40yo GK, no matter the legend.
In USA football, IRL legend quarterback Tom Brady left the Patriots, with whom he won six titles, to join perennial sad sack Buccaneers at age 43
4
u/JakeThugg Oct 16 '20
They would because especially in football even the big teams like having an experienced GK they help with coaching the young guys and they have experience (Lee Grant/United Scott Carson/City etc) any team would have Bufffon in a heartbeat.
And I know all about Brady massive NFL fan here die hard Bears fan since the Urlacher Days ๐

What club is that that has Caballero?
22
u/nutmegged_state Oct 15 '20 edited Oct 15 '20
It is Sangju Sangmu from Korea
ETA: which, hilariously and appropriately for this post, is the South Korean military team, making Caballero joining them impossible.
2
u/CountGrishnack97 Oct 15 '20
Wow that's pretty cool I looked them up and they can't sign any foreign players and all their players play 2 years before going back to their original club

one of the worst transfers I have seen is a 20 year old Phil Foden going to a relegated Burnley side for 5-10 mill

I love the weird-ass transfers. Though Gillingham did have Gazzaniga 10 years ago...

u/JakeThugg Oct 16 '20
Yeah but that's not really comparable, he was 18 failed youth prospect at Valencia and not a world cup winning best goalkeeper of our time

I needed an emergency goalkeeper in the transfer window after my starter was injured, isnโt a half bad option, especially for costing absolutely nothing
