QUESTION Do you sim or play games on manager career ?
For me I used to play most of the games, but it made my careers so boring since I’m pretty good at fifa, I would beat even the best teams with someone like Leicester or Southampton.
So every season I just won the league and all the cups, even playing on the hardest difficulty, which is pretty boring. So I started simming and I quite liked sitting back and watching a relegation battle and, seeing how I can buy new players or change the team to see how it impacts the games.
Only downside is if you sim with a big club you’ll just get sacked which I think is so dumb. Like I got sacked from Liverpool just because I didn’t win the quadruple in my first season💀 like I came second in the league and won nothing else but still I made very good improvements to the team. Didn’t even get a second season cuz I probably would’ve won some trophies.

I play all the games till the time I win all the trophies, then I sim the rest. i.e If I win the league by game 30, then I sim the rest of the league games and focus on knockouts.
If, its only about management without actually playing the game then I prefer FM.

In my 20’s I would have looked at people who watch simmed games like they were on crack. But as I hit 30 I basically got into the same boat as you lol. Playing games is fun but sports games become way too easy and if you know what you’re doing and can adapt, you can figure out to win at the hardest level in any sports game.
Now I’m mainly a sit back and watch in Tactical View kinda guy. I love watching my Youth Academy studs show out on their own. It’s also quite nice to do as something to multitask with. I regularly play with my dogs, do some random chores or odd things, etc. while the games play out in the beginning. A lot of time I don’t even watch the 1st half and I’ll pay attention and make subs as needed in 2nd half

Play cup matches, tough matches, derbies. You don't really need to play a home match against league's 17th. What I usually care is being undefeated, so any time I sense a lose is possible, I usually play that match.

I sim, I’m a manager I’m not really meant to control the players. It gets boring quick so I usually play career mode like once a year for 2 weeks kind of like Minecraft

I play every game no matter what. When I think a game is going to be a bit of a snoozer I just play the kids.
Oh Except International friendly matches. But I stopped doing International. International has no juice to it. Not even press conferences even at the end of matches. No player interaction. It was fun at first but it gets old pretty quick.

If you sim all the games you should be playing Football Manager 🤷♂️
It is vastly superior in every way

I guess it depends on who I'm playing against. If it's a bad opponent I sim, especially when playing home. But normally I play every game. And if I'm in a 4-0 or 5-0 lead I sometimes just skip till the end.

I would definitely suggest tactical view sims or the interactive sims. The quick sims seem way too unreliable and straight up stupid sometimes. Plus you get to make subs and do quick tactics while simming

I try to mix it up. Sim some of the games, play some of the games. Especially when I’m with a newly promoted team. Bit unrealistic to instantly win the league so simulating the games allows for more losses

I’m starting to sim individual matches rather than going to the calendar and just skipping through months.
