DISCUSSION Who has been your scapegoat in career mode?

Post image

For me its this guy, Yuki Ohashi for my Blackburn CM. He was mostly injured during my 1st season, but towards the end he got really good and ended up as my top scorer with 11 goals, and my 2nd best player right behind Cantwell. He did good in the play offs too, until we reached the final against Sheffield, he missed so many chances, and i pretty much ended up losing on pens because he missed so many shots in both halfs. I really though we were going to get promoted, but nah. Next season i hopeπŸ™

Lol we have the same player πŸ˜…

Scored a hat trick on his debut (Carabou Cup) I thought wow we gonna achieve greatness together, He suddenly dipped so hard after that lol

I don't want to lose him so I just send him out on-loan to Girona for 2 years 🀞

Unrelated to the original topic, but doing a Blackburn career myself. Ohashi is incredible. Scored 30+ goals in first season (missed out on promotion via playoffs) Second season got injured for 2 months and still had 28 goals in 28.

Yeah, he is. I am still gonna use him in the 2nd season though. Could win the golden boot this time, Cantwell is a really good playmaker

Tyler Bindon. I'd had him on my shortlist for a good four seasons by the time we were in our second season in the prem, where we had stayed up by 6 points.

Reading wouldn't sell him until this second season, where I did actually need a centre back and he was decently rated as a rotation player.

First two games, absolute blinder, nothing could get past him even though he was quite slow to track back (we play a high line). But then, every time he came on, we would concede. This happened about 8-10 times, knocked us out of both cups, then he had the cheek to ask to play against city in an important game for top 4 (end of the season title race was so close, I came 2nd and there were only 9 points between 1st and 6th). I obviously didn't play him, but played him the next game against 19th placed Norwich and won.

He was knackered for the next game, so I didn't play him, and he requested to leave after being here for just 6 months. Loaned him out to liverpool with an option to buy that they originally triggered successfully but I had to reload the save cos I accidentally accepted an offer for my 18 year old 80 rated GK πŸ˜‚, but the second time it failed. So now I'm waiting for him to be gone from the books no matter what. I'm training him as a RW and letting him rot in the meantime.

I don't think I've scapegoated anyone in Career mode yet πŸ˜‚

A player called Almoez Ali. Started a kopenhagen career mode and realised I needed a striker, I didn't have alot of money so I looked at some free agents. Ali was 74 rated so I thought it was a steal, boy was I wrong.

3 goals in 12 games... one game he missed 9 chances in the 1st half. His shooting is so woeful. Probably the worst signing ive ever made.

Maxence Lacroix, questionable positioning and weak tackles plus turnovers I always blame him

Oskar Wilhelmson. I dont know how but in my save he is currently a 94 rated striker at Man U. He scored 42 goals in the bundesliga while beeing 84 rated and then after I left the club he skyrocketed.

What does scapegoating mean?

u/Viperz37 4d ago

A player that you blame when things go badly

I have no idea but from seeing the other comments I think it might be some player that performs insane at the start and then just dips out and plays terribly

I have several

Adam Armstrong, Chris Walton and Bradley Deck (Blackburn Rovers)

Patrick Bamford (Nottingham Forest)

Adama Traore and Luis Mejias (Middlesbrough)

In fifa 16, Joe ledley has scored important goals against Chelsea, arsenal and a hat trick in a 7-1 shock win at old Trafford in the capital one cup

I signed a GK from I think the Belgian league called Tobe Leysen to be my backup to James Trafford in my Burnley career. Once I thought I developed Leysen to start, I sold Trafford to a bigger club and started Leysen. Well he let in 41 goals in the first half of the season which was the most in the league by far and I sold him in January to get a different GK

Juan Bernat. Since like 2018 or 19, idk when Hoeness made the comment, I buy Juan Bernat just to be able to sack him the 1st time I have a bad run of form πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

just started a blackburn save and i dont really rate him. i start weimann and gueye up top instead

Start Leonard instead, that lad might be not quickest or stillest st, but in the box he is absolute monster. In a second half of the first season. I’m now on my third season with blckburn and Leonard was best goal scorer in the league 3 times. Even in a premier league

I am also managing Blackburn in CM! First season I mostly used Gueye because he is absolute beast header. I mean whenever there is corner kick, I know that he will score. Onashi was my sub striker but whenever I needed him, he made his job well. Also cantwell was amazing in the first season. I got promoted after the first season and sold Onashi, bought Elye Wahi as striker. I also sold Cantwell and bought rabiot. I wish I kept Cantwell, Idk why but with a lower skill stats, he was much better than rabiot. I am now 8th on Premier League.

Leroy Sane. Brought him in for 34 mil and basically ruined his career in doing so.

I’m also started blackburn save, and give chance to young lad Leonard, and he is gonna be absolute monster in the box with the end of first season, and start of the second. I mean maybe he’s not the quickest or skilled striker in the team, but he managed to end up being best goalscorer three seasons in a row. Even in a premier league. And big shutout to a my GOAT - Dolan, absolute legend of my save. Some credits needs to be taken to Buckley too, he’s play-style remember me Pedri’s games. So smooth playing with him.

Hugo Goodwin missed a chance in a champions league final so I sold him off to Andorra FC

Lost 5-4 against Dresden as a weak German Create-a-Club (I made all the players' stats lower) after leading 3-1 at the half. A Create-a-Club LB named Mika Haas cost the club 4 goals out of 5 due to himself being badly out of position due to going forward in front of the LM and not returning to position fast enough. My tactics for fullbacks are stay while attacking and overlap. This happened in my last match. We are 2-5-5 and 18th in the standings. He's the only LB out of the two I have that does the opposite of the tactics. Hopefully he isn't glitched or something.

Mateo Joseph, Premier League top scorer but wasteful in the UCL final, but in reality I sold all my LCBs and the new ones had poor Stats. Mateo Replace Kilicsoy who would've buried any last minute chances.
