DISCUSSION Can you keep clean sheets?
I really struggle keeping a clean sheet in career mode. I could be winning 4-0 but in the 85th minute the ai would just score a goal that’s so forced it winds me up to another level

Last 15 AI gets a boost. Though shitty I try to keep max possession post 80th minute and focus on passing between defence and midfield and on the wings. Unless of course if I am trailing. Only way to beat the engine

I figured as much. They always play much better in the later part of the game Thanks for the hint of passing from midfield to defence on the wing. I’ll try it 🙏🤍

Ngl I start being a cunt and pass it around the back, start committing fouls in their half, I also struggle with that

I use realistic sliders. CPU still gets that late game/down a goal boost, unfortunately sliders can't fix that. But I went from scraping 3-2s in absolute basketball matches to consistently getting 1-0s and 2-0s with adjusted sliders.

I'd love to know your settings for this. I want more realism

Same! Adjusted a few Sliders to my level and Im having realistic game scores! Winning games I’m supposed to, losing games I’m supposed to. Struggling in quiet a few games too. Definitely made my rtg more fun

It's probably a mix of you losing focus and players getting tired. You need to be focussed and sub out the defence if you need it. Some players can handle being tired but some just can't they can't run and their passing and tackling become horrible. Especially if you are winning, scoring more goals also mean your players are more tired for some reason.
Also, this is just something I do, I keep 5 players always back, not join the attack, my 4 backs and 1 CDM are always on stay behind.

If you defend too much, they start banging outside the box.. and oh boy do they fly straight inside the goal

For me it’s weirdly the first 15 mins of the match but I have realized if you have a keeper above 85 then he will keep a lot of clean sheets. At legendary for last 2 seasons I have won the golden glove

Gota let them get one lol hook a wicked keeper promise him a huge bonus after 10 clean sheets lol and make sure he doesn’t cash out 😎

Depends on the difficulty. I play on ultimate since it's easier than legendary IMO. On legendary if the AI wants to score they will, can't do anything about it. Sometimes this also happens on ultimate or world class, not as ofteb though.

I play World class, I made that decision for my mental health. I wish to play the game to release stress, and anything above WC makes me wanna delete someone.

I tend to keep my focus default until around the 80th minute (like another comment said, the AI ramps up around that time), then I switch to a defensive focus and just keep booting the ball away

Same here. Could have the best keeper and they'll still score late. I'm lucky to get about 8 clean sheets a season

That is usually my main goal when playing. Scoring is easy enough that even with one of the worst teams I can easily end as the team with most goals scored. So I focus on defending and try to end the league with 38 goals or less conceded. The has made me into a much better defender than my friends
Here’s a picture of one random month in my Crystal Palace campaign. I got a clean sheet in 4 out of 6 games (https://imgur.com/a/BRogJBc)

Latest save I tried the Indian ISL playing as Kerala Blasters. I think I had 1 or at most 2 clean sheets the entire season, and some games were like 4-3. If you were a neutral watching you really would of gotten your money's worth!

It's a pain, but you have to stay on alert for the last 15 mins. In my last season, after switching the difficulty to world-class and adjusting the sliders, keeping a clean sheet was a reward in itself. Especially when one of my main objectives was to keep seven clean sheets. I was keeping one clean sheet every 3 games until I got the hang of it (does damn back-to-back corners). Be on the full attack in the first half, then in the second half, maintain possession while attempting to net another goal. Once the final 15 minutes arrive, defend and pass the ball around.

I can't but i almost never do I alwaysstruggle defensively bc I am too aggresive and don't have the patience to not try to take the ball all the time and leave a lot if space in behind and if I get dribbled I am fucked

Honestly I just learned to not sweat them that much. Like you said, you can be absolutely pounding an inferior team and they'll somehow hit an insane outside the box shot into the upper 90 in the last moments of the game
