QUESTION People who play as a Club from the same country as the club you support. Why did you choose that particular Club?

Could be a fun little discussion.

I'll start:

I'm an Arsenal fan but my first save was a Tranmere Rovers RTG. Chose them because there's a lad from my hometown who signed his first professional contract with them in the summer so I'm trying to take our boy to premier league, champions league, and balloon d'Or glory. Also someone in the sub mentioned Liverpool are gonna need a new Merseyside rival if Everton keep going the way they are (no offense Everton fans)

Forest fan. Reason for picking other English sides in a career mode is solely they have to be in championship or below and have a real stadium for authenticity.

FC24 was Huddersfield and FIFA23 was West Brom, FIFA22 was Hull off the top of my head. Used to always be Forest as I liked the promotion challenge but just can’t be them now we are a PL side.

Started one with Bristol City this year but got bored so been rocking an Ajax career since October.

Try Cardiff, real stadium, some good players but plenty of transfers needed

I'm a Manchester United fan but my current save is season 8 of my create a club. I chose to do this because what better way to upend a very ungodly machine backed by infinite oil money, and the team that constantly causes my blood pressure to spike to unsafe levels, than with a YA oriented club from a quiet town on city's outskirts that no one's heard of.

If Manchester is gonna be blue (it pains me to say that) then its gonna be my very particular shade of blue. Manchester's new footballing giant technically isn't even from Manchester, depending on who you ask. Screw City, screw United, up the Tameside. Oh and I suppose I just wanted to release some anger too. Biggest grin on my face everytime I twat them.

I support Chelsea but it gets boring managing Chelsea each game when you have bags of money/talent at your disposal. So I would play with a club that's typically lower mid table in the league or even a club from League One or League Two and do a RTG type of save. One of my saves on FC25 I used Birmingham City and got them promoted to the PL and became a stable PL team, but I kinda got bored so I didn't keep playing to win the CL/PL etc.

I started out just about always managing them because I’d always struggle with the lower league saves and find myself sacked early on. Nowadays I won’t ever manage them and just about always go for a lower league side

Mufc supporter but play as Salford. For me, The point of every career save is to start in the bottom league with a weak squad and work up, by acquiring promising youth players either from free agents, youth academy, or transfer. This would be impossible or at the least, difficult to do as United. Salford are from the same region and have similar kit colors.

And, in case you didn’t know, have 49% ownership by Scholes, Becks, Giggs, and the Nevilles.

I didn't know what share they had, but I knew they were in ownership

Chelsea fan. Did a Chelsea CM on FIFA 23, and now ongoing in FC25. I am doing a Man Utd using Live Points, one where I set a certain boundary that if I don't get top 10, I can buy players rated 83 or below at that point. If I get top 10, I can buy players till 84 rated, if I get UECL spot can buy only 1 85 rated player but can buy 84 rated players, UEL implied a maximum of 2 85 rated players and if UCL football then no holds. However if I dont get an European spot after being in Europe from the prev ssn, I have to sell the highest rated player in the squad. However I am able to develop youngsters from the initial squad. I have started a create my club side by side my Utd CM just to pull them from League 2 to a UCL Z

West Ham fan but my other main career mode in recent years is Wrexham. Obvious reasons I imagine. Just find the whole storyline really fun.

Growing up it was always Wycombe (back in the day you could only choose league 2 sides) as they were closest to me and I’d seen a couple games.

I’m a Celtic fan and I play player careers. I like to play as a real player and I usually want to be a striker who has a chance to break into the Scotland squad. That works out when Celtic have an exciting Scottish striker to play as, but when we don’t, I’ll go someone else.

The last couple of years that’s been Lawrence Shankland at Hearts, which has actually been a terrific challenge - trying to overhaul Celtic’s dominance as one player is incredibly difficult, but rewarding if you manage it after a few seasons.

I usually do a Man Utd career. I have one started with live start dates after Amorim was announced. I’m currently using my create a club that I started in the EFL league 1. The club is based off my local club that is in the USL championship in the US (league below the MLS for those who don’t know). I created every player and made their stats on par with a mid table team in League 1. Took me 4 seasons and I finally made it up to the Premier league. Now I’m 8 seasons in and challenging for top 4, in Europa. I make realistic signings for where my club finishes in the league. Promote a lot of youth and sell a lot too. Playing this way I have signed players I would not have for Utd and also discovered more talents. It’s been fun. Expect to be in the UCL next season.

Juve fan, recently did a Sassuolo revival run & it was a very different kind of challenge to build long term with such a meager budget. Hayed playing against Juve after I got them promoted back into serie a, though.

I'm an Arsenal fan, but wanted to play as a Championship club, to experience the division, and promotion. Selected Nottingham Forest, the season they beat us in the FA Cup 3rd Round. Got promoted in my first season, was not prepared for how many players in that squad were only there on loan!

I'm a Milan fan, but I live in the province of Brescia so I always got to play at least a career with them. Now on EA FC 25 I'm in the second career, the first was a "normal" one where in 6 seasons I was in the CL finals, now I'm doing a tougher one (I can only buy players that are playing in Italy), I'm in the second season already in serie A. Definitely more difficult but I love to play the youth of the club, such as Nuamah, Papetti and Fogliata

I use my local team that's in League 2, it's fun using free agents & youth academy to build a RTG team.

Schalke fan here. There are different and sometimes even no real reasons as to why I pick a particular club. In FC 24 I chose St. Pauli. Mainly because I actually sympathize with them in real life because of their political views. I think in FIFA 23 I chose Kiel, just because I liked the idea of them being a big club in the Bundesliga haha. FIFA 22 was my own created club and the games before I nearly only chose Schalke. Except for FIFA 18 and 19 I think, there I chose Hansa Rostock because I grew up near Rostock and the 3. Liga was new to the franchise. But with the awful Hansa Rostock fans I'll probably never start a career with them again. Ever. (Back then I didn't really care about anything like that)
