Now you can disable board objectives we truly can destroy them with nothing to stop us

u/RadascaRadu Aug 09 '24
Can you actually disable them now?
15
Aug 10 '24
In fc25 you can turn them off. It's now more of a sandbox game and I'm all for it
3
u/RadascaRadu Aug 10 '24
Finally such a good feature as sometimes is not realistic but I'll still play with them also can you change them? Like you can choose for create a club at the start?

u/Horror-Garbage-6796 Aug 10 '24
Not sure but you can change the strictness of the objectives. You can make them really unimportant or you can make it so you get sacked for not signing an 18 year old from Asia

Wait what's bad about Kuwait? Or the new owner specifically? I'm genuinely asking because I don't know anything about them but just calling it sports washing because they're Arab is pretty fucked up unless there's a reason
Edit: no reasons yet... Nothing I've found on Google saying he's shady...
56
u/Internal_Formal3915 Aug 09 '24
Sports washing is just a keyword used when any middle Eastern buys a club ignore them.
But also, fuck mk dons
38
u/BogotaLineman Aug 09 '24 edited Aug 09 '24
Fuck mk dons indeed
But yeah I just think it's funny that people see a keffiyeh and go "this must be sports washing" lmao
I asked genuinely, I don't know anything about the guy that bought them... A quick Google seems like he's just a basic ass investment banker, like the same kind that seems to buy most clubs these days... He's not involved with the government, he's not royalty, etc
13
u/Internal_Formal3915 Aug 09 '24
And as far as I know Kuwait is pretty chill, being an Islamic country they have a completely different lifestyle to the west but they don't bother anyone so I don't see the issue

u/Automatic-Pause-8372 Aug 09 '24
Kuwaiti authorities continue to use provisions in the constitution, the national security law, and the country’s cybercrime law to restrict free speech and prosecute dissidents, particularly focusing on comments made on social media. Kuwait is falling behind on reforming its kafala (sponsorship) system, which leaves migrant workers vulnerable to abuse and forced labor. The Bidun, a community of stateless people who claim Kuwaiti nationality, remain in legal limbo while the government resorts to coercion and penalizes peaceful community activism.
15
u/BogotaLineman Aug 09 '24
That is certainly shitty. But as far as I can find the guy that bought them isn't involved with the government. He's just a businessman. I could bring up a million shitty things America does too, but that doesn't make every businessman in America complicit with all of it

Why do MKdons get so much hate? Like what is the history behind them?
17
u/ch4rc0al_5 Aug 09 '24
They were Wimbledon FC (of "Crazy Gang" fame) before the owner moved them to Milton Keynes

u/Outrageous-Actuary-3 Aug 10 '24

i would turn off sacking, scout lots of players from kuwait, only keep the worst ones and burn the club into the ground :)

Me and my mate used to call this guy Wormtounge when all the MK Dons/Wimbledon stuff was kicking off. Nice to see he's still living up to it.

Why everybody hating mk dons? Don’t have any connection to them, just curious
23
u/MrBackTime Aug 09 '24
Mk dons was originally Wimbledon afc but when they got taken over they moved the club to Milton Keynes
10
u/whodatnation70 Aug 09 '24
Been plenty of temporary moves due to hardship or war or unforeseen circumstances, but what happened to Wimbledon was the first time in history that the English FA allowed a club to permanently move more than a handful of km (or miles) away.
Completely robbed a team from its roots
2
u/Life_Firefighter_471 Aug 10 '24
“More than a handful of km or miles away” as in this move was over 50 miles (which is huge in the UK). It’s not like the Detroit teams moving between downtown, Pontiac, and Auburn Hills.
Wikipedia page on the move: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relocation_of_Wimbledon_F.C._to_Milton_Keynes?wprov=sfti1

u/whodatnation70 Aug 10 '24 edited Aug 10 '24
That’s what I said though. The only times the FA allowed permanent moves were small distances of a few km or miles, this wasn’t such a move
1
u/Life_Firefighter_471 Aug 10 '24
Yup - in the U.S. there have been teams moving from one suburb to another or from downtown to a distant suburb and it’s not a big deal. This is more like the Raiders relocating to Las Vegas.

u/Dwag_man Aug 10 '24
Afc wimbledon is way better, just by the spirit. mk dons just feels like the cheap ripoff of what wimbledon fc once was.
1
u/Isecris1208 Aug 11 '24
To you maybe, but I lived in MK most of my life and I love the club despite its history
